Caffie Radio Incarnation 3.0 Take 2

Chikane's Radio > World.

Man, stop winning before I'll do some +18 things when thinking of you.
As expected, the radio went from a consistent average of 30-45 listeners down to about 5-20.

On a brighter note, this is the longest it has lasted, and at least we have people consistently willing to DJ (meaning it will always be there).
I tried to listen to it, but my internet sucks so bad that it kept disconnecting every 30 seconds, and I would have to go through a 15 second process of reconnecting, and it just ended up not being worth it. Sad though.

Yeah I think we have like 6-7 people who Dj now in total [citation needed]

SMWHacking? I rest my case.
SMWCentral? I leave it to rest.

Let's see, there's me, Slash Man, S.N.N., Kiddo, Chikane, and Foursword4. Teff007 has DJed also, and I think Dotsarecool has also, but those people are the only people who do it regularly.
Yeah I thought so.

Also peeps, I'm gonna end the stream soon.
Because of internet shenanigans.
I will pull an allnighter tonight and will stream starting 1 AM my time again.

I love how Chikane's DJ'ing involves 99% songs on helium...

...and how many people enjoy listening to these kinds of songs XD

...and I can't stop listening myself...

Not blue.

I haven't yet, but I hope to at some point. Just haven't got around to it yet.

I don't know if people would like my music considering all is is Mario game OSTs. I'd have to filter out all the little 5 second fanfare clips and everything, which would take a while considering I have like 1900 songs as of now.
I'm out for today after a few good hours of DJing. I'm really enjoying being a DJ, but of course, if anyone has any suggestions for the types of songs I should put up (what I need more of, what I have too much of, etc.) I'd love to hear them. My playlist is quite a bit smaller than most of the others.
I guess I'm up for the time being. Expect alot of rock, and something like techno from me. there's about a day's worth of music I can play currently.

I've been enjoyin' your DJing quite a bit, Buster Beetle. I tune in to your shifts mostly for the kickin' guitar-heavy tracks (e.g., GGXX songs, remixed VG tunes), which it seems ya have plenty of! I'd like more of the same, and I can't really pick out anything that came off as annoying, though I'm not very picky with music to begin with. Maybe ya could mix in some more "real" music, along the lines of the occasional SOAD track I heard, as the lineup did feel like it leaned much more towards VG tracks.

Yep, that's about all I can think ta say for now!

I was thinking this as well. The problem is, that my taste and knowledge of "real" music is a lot more shallow than that of video game tracks. I mostly only listen to various types of metal, which I thought might get boring as well (and also, FUGGNUTZ usually covers that too). I will try and bring more real bands into the mix though, thanks for the suggestion.

I like how everything is turning out so far. It seems to be doing much better in my opinion than the other times.
Not to mention seeing the radio bar on the top really helps.

Wait, there wasn't a bar last time? What else are we doing that wasn't done last time?

IIRC, there wasn't a bar at the top last time (correct me if I'm wrong). Probably why there were fewer listeners - people forgot all about it.Free counters!

afaik last time there basically was a news post announcing the radio and giving a link and nothing else.
Your layout has been removed.
The past two times the radio was up, it died very quickly, because really all we had was a news post, an IRC channel that had almost no activity, and an announcement thread explaining the details. Due to there being a lot less users than there are on this incarnation of the SMWC radio, nobody wanted to DJ, either, so it got shut down both times.

I really like the radio bar this time around, though. I think it will keep the radio alive for a lot longer than the past incarnations were, though it may still die sometime in the future. I think it's good for more things than just that, though. I mean, if the bar wasn't there and more news posts were made, you'd have to go digging through the news to find the link, and as a result, not as many people would be listening. I also like seeing the song that's currently playing, as it gives me a bit of a taste as to what type of songs the DJ will be playing. To be honest, I haven't heard a DJ that I haven't liked yet, so good job to all of you DJing. :>
Could we get a little place to "stockpile" the ads? I grow tired of having to figure out who is DJing for how much longer, who's DJing next, or the DJ just not knowing how to put the ads in. This would also add some variety to the radio, hearing a random ad inbetween song (like with eShroom), but they don't say the EXACT SAME THING EVERY TIME! And of course, not joke ads last for like a day or 2, but the actual joke ads last a while.

If I want to send music to a specific DJ through a PM or something, do I just send them a zip or... is there a procedure?
Hey, I'm Riot. I used to use this website a lot but it has been quite a while since I've been a part of it. Help me out with any of the changes; it'd be much appreciated.
Either just PM them and request the song, or just go on the IRC and request a song on #radio or query the person who is currently the DJ.
