Awesome. I always thought the flopsy fish graphics where pretty gross, but now they look the opposite :D

I want to have sex with your graphics combinations so bad. Seriously, though, I don't think I have ever seen such smooth graphics in a hack before. Granted, most of them are actually available at the site for people to download, but you are one of the few people who are gifted enough to come up with this sort of stuff. You are one of the chosen ones, brother, and I would certainly be happy for that if I were you. :) Those Blurp graphics look awesome - as already said, they fit excellently with the rest of the graphics, plus they are nice to look at, too. It would be nice if you could show us them in action at some point, though. Terrific work, overall. I always get really excited when you update this thread, you really should do this more often for the sake of seeing (or at least imagining) me smile.

Thanks for the awesome compliments.

Just for you, Broozer:

The music is "Rainbow Road" from Mario Kart DS. The background is from a Stafy game.

Looks great!

What background is that?
Andy, you know how to handle GFX, colors and level design and such, really! That level just looks so fun to play! It was very smooth overall. The YI fish was a nice touch and the Star music was halerious^^

Keep up this awsomeness plx!
Ha, I wasn't expecting a video to be up so quick.

Anyway, it blew me away - your hack honestly looks like an actual game rather than just a ROM edit. I recall you saying that one of your main goals in making this project is to accomplish a real SMB-like feel to it, and I must say that you are going on the right direction, buddy - this really is shaping up as such, I say. The fish graphics themselves are even more awesome in action - the fact that they are being used with a dynamic sprite makes them even more impressive and smooth.

One question, though... are the shell graphics that appear all the way throughout made by you, or are they actually from somewhere? Somehow I get the strange feeling I have seen they before...

All in all, fabulous work. My only personal suggestion is to whip up some layer 3 clouds or something to complement the top part of the layer 2 BG itself, as it looks pretty bland lacking clouds. Layer 2 clouds is okay, too, but Layer 3 just gives that special touch to things, you know? ;) But, yeah, do whatever pleases you - that is just a suggestion from me, and you don't necessarily need to take it.
That's so awesome, andy. Great level design, and the usage of graphics is just... beyond awesome.

This could be an addition to the level in my opinion:
The background could use parallax scrolling using HDMA and levelASM, just so it looks niftier, some sort of 'eye-candy'. What do you think of this? It looks a bit... unnatural to me to have a static sea background.

(Another idea I got is that the flagpole could use a "firework whistle" sound)

It's all very little details, but they can make the hack more awesome.
My blog. I could post stuff now and then

My Assembly for the SNES tutorial (it's actually finished now!)
I love the star music xD
Whoa! this surely looks like a great hack!

I can't wait to see it done to play it. Level design and gameplay looks very good on the video and the GFX balance is superb. I'm looking forward to this one #w{:>}

I got my shell graphics from one of the only Mario games without Koopa Troopas - SMB2.

Yeah - as soon as I figure out custom Layer 3 BGs, I will be using them.

Looks excellent as usual, great work.

@ASM: The BG is, as already said, Legend of Stafy 2 - Ocean Horizon.
Now I need to change my old avatar. Or not.
Beautiful- because it looks super realistic. Like, rocks and coral sticking out of the sand- it feels like a genuine coral reef(the ones I've seen are sort of similar), save for the ceiling, which the ocean doesn't have.
Your layout has been removed.
Your graphical combinations are spectacular, Andy. There are no complaints I would address, however, I would suggest making the right side of the end goal safehouse doorway enable layer priority. That way, Mario will walk into the safehouse after reaching the end of the level. This is just a simple suggestion to improve immersion in your hack.
CP_foothills has been canned. Therefore, this space is once again blank.
Oh wow, very nice. That underwater level is looking good so far, my only complaint is your use of only big corals instead of some small corals... I will make some for you now. (Unless you actually have some in the level somewhere... then you can hit me.)

I really like the BG too, especially how the BG graphics blend or fade into the BG Color. Is that a statue of a dolphin I see there, or am I wrong?
When will this be done or have a demo.

Dude, stop asking. You also bumped this thread again and it hasn't been posted in for longer than a month, don't post in threads that haven't posted in a month or more. And Andy won't even have this finished in a long time especially since he's busy with real life things right now.

I'm gonna close this for now, Andy knows what to do if he wants this re-opened.
Opened again for Mr. Andeh.

Yay! Nice to see you work on this hack again, andy. Very nice screens you got there, the SMAS feeling is given with the graphics, obviously. I wonder who lives in that Mushroom House on the top of the hill...anyways, great work, and keep it up.
Thats my house of course, you know with the whole 1UP colours....
Craapy jokes aside, the two screens look nice. As Hadron said there is a cool SMAS vibe to it. I like the fish with the shark fin. :3
Ah, nice to see that this hack is being worked on again. Everything is looking awesome as always. I really like the Blurp with the shark fin and the use of the SMAS graphics.
