So yup. Since I was already in the middle of the world 1 project when the demo got rejected, I'd figure I'd show this off. The new demo will be put up when the new Chuck Mines are finished (with a new name though)

Also, Inizio is Italian for Beginning or Beginner.

Amazing level, flare, I really liked the underwater part, in fact, I say that part was probably the best in the whole level, even if it is only two screens.

Anyway, the shop looks good too, and I just noticed the Toad behind the counter, which is actually an interesting touch. I would have just expected the blocks, but meh.

Overall everything is turning out alright, and with the new palette I can bet the Chuck Mines (or whatever it will be called) will turn out to be an interesting level as well.

I'm betting there are maybe some of you out there wondering why there hasn't been an update in over a week. WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL... lets just say real life is treating me like shit at the moment. I'm still working on this as much as I can, but its going slower then ever. I really hope to have demo 2 up at c3!

After ANOTHER long time of no updates, here is a small/big one.

First up, an unnamed cave level that is replacing the current chuck mines.










So, what do you all think about the level? My custom-made redrawn pokeys? The mario's lost world koopas instead of my squishies? (I still have the squishie gfx file, incase people want them back.)

Secondly, my parents just got divorced last week. Divorce = Living in separate houses = separate computers = separate files.

So, I'll only be able to work on ALLotS while at my mom's house.

BUT! I AM working on a separate hack at my dads house; A Vanilla Thang. The graphics are going to be vanilla styled, and I'm planning on custom music and sprites too. I'm typing this up at my mom's house at the moment, but I will be going to my dads this afternoon. Look for the new thread there.

Lastly, just to make it public, ALLotS will NOT be BSnes compatible. It just has too many limitations for my tastes. (Yeah, it is the most accurate snes emulator out there, but the snes just has too many limitations for this hack.)

Since I have just started AVT, it won't be as much of a hassle getting it BSnes compatible than ALLotS, so AVT will be BSnes compatible.

The new level looks nice, pokeys are really awesome, they look like the ones from NSMBW.

Anyways I agree with the BSNES rule being dumb,
Swapping to another emulator cause its more accurate and that a majority dont use it. Yeah ¬¬

You don't have to switch to BSNES, you just have to make your hack compatible with it. Also, you use AddMusic4 just like Romi's anyway, uses the same "AddMusic.exe *ROMname.smc* LEVEL" command. The only difference is that each song needs a header, which has been automatically generated for most ports on the site anyway.

Unfortunately, AVT isn't going how I planned it, due to my dads key board not allowing more than three keys to be pressed at once, it makes testing levels one hell of a night-mare. So, it's just ALLotS for now.

To actually make this post useful, I was thinking of changing the name.

Adventure Land: Darkness Rising (ALDR)

It has to do more for my planned story (which I am still not going to reveal to you all yet.) and I think it just sounds catchier, not to mention it also sounds less of a rip-off of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (I seriously was NOT thinking of this when I named it, by the way.)

... I've never seen why needing to press more then 3 keys at the same time is important...

Man, I haven't clicked that Login button for quite a while now, I guess it's because I went all out playing Metroid Prime Trilogy, but I digress...

ANYWAY, I really like the new Chuck Mines (or whatever it's called now), especially the aura of it, it's so dark and...I guess it could be considered gloomy... Also, did you really draw that Pokey GFX yourself? Because in my opinion that looks like something Icegoom would draw, but that's just me.

I actually am very fond of the new name, it doesn't sound SMRPG-like anymore, and if what you say is true it has to relate to the storyline, which I think is overly important in a plot-based hack, if that is what you're planning this to be that is.

Overall I like the new level and name, and I feel sorry for you, because I bet having divorced parents must be tough on your real-life.

Boss break-down.

Phase 1

Pretty simple.

Hit him with shells, he drops lightning, darkens the screen, then chases you.

Phase 2

Falling. Drops satellites and turns invisible when hes half-way dead.

Phase 3

I'd just like to thank everyone for their support too. It's a long road ahead (seriously, I'm still working on world 1.), but this hack will be done... someday.
