Essentially, if you don't believe in souls(I'm indifferent on the subject), we are a lot like computers. We are "wired", and have little "switches"(not physical switches, but things that act as them), to let reactions in us happen. Tiny, physical things happen in us to make us do things, just like in computers. If you physically, perfectly constructed a human by, piece by piece, placing the atoms to make amino acids and proteins and shit to produce a human that is physically technically human, it is still a human. Because of this, I believe it is possible that, one day, we may be able to create true, human-level artificial intelligence with emotions and stuff.

I hope computers don't become sentient. Sentient beings tend to be dicks.
Your layout has been removed.
I'll start being worried when the computer from 2001 A Space Odyssey comes into existence.
Just how are we supposed to generate a soul? That's quite enough of an argument for me.
Although, half of the people I know in real life are questionable as to wether or not they have a soul.
Jujubes!¡!¡!

Also, still alive, just lost in life stuff

...And even if we presuppose the existence of a soul, you might as well ask yourself how we generate one when giving birth to another human being? Should we then argue that human beings cannot possibly be possessed of personhood...?
Some people say that the soul is the part of you that lives on after your body has passed away.

It isn't as though we can just download soul.exe onto a computer--there's something more to a soul than just a collection of ideas and emotions. In fact, some argue that the soul is more than even our sense of self-awareness.

Does thinking+feeling+free will+a sense of self=a soul?
Don't forget emotions, memories and the ability to draw emotions from memories. But, in my opinion, that defines a soul very well.

I don't really see why we should need to upload a soul.exe, though--it's not as though when we make new human beings, it is necessary for some soul-producing organ in the mother's body to insert a soul in to the developing embryo, nor do our cells contain genetic code instructing the cells in soul production. Regardless of what we consider a soul to consist of, regardless of whether we assume it to be something that continues to exist after the death of the body, regardless of whether we assume it to be something that has previously inhabited other bodies in the past and will continue to inhabit still others in the future, it would seem to be something you can have without the being who gave birth to you specifically putting it inside of you. Why should it be any different for machines?
What if you're brain dead? Or rather. You have a mental disorder which makes you not able to ''Recieve'' emotions good?

Are you not a ''Human''then?
