What Is Your Favorite Gaming Console & Why?

For nearly 13 years, I have been a fan of Nintendo and their awesome assortment of games. [Sony's great as well, so you can talk about your favorite games from the PSP, PS2, or whatever. ;3]
My favorite gaming console is a hard choice between the Nintendo 64 and the Nintendo Gamecube, since most of my favorite games are on both systems. And, of course, I have spent the most time on those systems . . . A sign that I enjoyed the graphics and overall story themes, which seem to be disappearing in the new game releases. -.-

Hmmmm . . . How about you? What is your favorite gaming console? =^_^=
I think this would belong in talk, unless it gets spammy.
I say it's a toss-up between Gamecube and DS lite.
"DS lite, you say? That's very inferior to the DSi, SDY1 you fool!"
True, true, but my DS lite has really grown on me. I've had it for about 4 or 5 years, and I haven't gotten rid of it. It's ability of playing Gameboy games makes it better than the DSi, which can't play them. I never had a DSi, but when the 3DS comes out, I'm definitely getting it, but keeping my DS lite. I've had it for too long to just give away.
woag.....

Yeah, I know what you mean about putting it in "Talk." My favorite place in the forum to browse through is in the Archives, and it's called the "Trash Can." I've always wanted a forum posting of mine to show up there but for it not sound too horrid to the point where I would be disabled or banned.

I love the Nintendo DS, but I don't see myself buying the new one that's soon to be released. I prefer the non-portable consoles, as opposed to the ones with tiny screens.
While I know this isn't a console (Sorta)

I pick Computers+Laptops.

Why?

I can play EVERY game from other consoles! Oh and it has internet.

Sadly I don't own ''Snes/nes/n64 or consoles like dat'' since i'm only 13.

Indeed computers and laptops can play any type of console, as long as the computer can handle the Dolphin emulator for the Gamecube/Wii games. [Mine doesn't . . . Arghh . . . =(].

The SNES is a great platform, and sometime soon, you could find one on eBay or a local Pawn shoppe. They often sell antiquated game systems. :3

I would love to play an N.E.S. in real life, but I've only been able to catch the ROMs.

Anyway that's really cool. =^_^=
I have a lot of game consoles that I really like, and I don't really think I can pick a favourite.

I really like the Gamecube, it had some great games and it was always fun to play alone or with other people. It has some of my favourite Nintendo games, and in my opinion better games than the Wii, like Metroid Prime, Wind Waker or Double Dash.
Same goes for the DS, there are a lot of good singleplayer and multiplayer games, and it's definitely my favourite handheld console.

But I think I might go with the computer as my favourite gaming console. There are so many games on the computer that I remember from my childhood, and it just has a far bigger variety of games, and of course the capability to emulator other systems. It's still the gaming console that I use the most today.

Also...why discuss if this should go to Talk if it would fit a lot better in Gaming anyway?

I could have entered this into the "Talk" section, but I thought that adding it into the "World of Insanity" would help it get sent to the Trash Can. I've always wanted something of mine to be there because those entries receive so much traffic and stay forever! >:D

Ultimately, I hope this one ends up there . . . It's my favorite place to browse here on SMWCentral.net . . . But then again, this sounds more fitting to be placed into the "Talk" forum instead.
When I was younger I loved playing the 64 with my cousin, because those games were fun, especially Mario kart 64. I also loved playing super Mario world, and tiny toons on the SNES. Now it's the X-box because killing zombies is what I'm into now, And the covenent. All with Yoshi island final boss music.

Well it belongs in Gaming and to Gaming it shall be sent. :V
That I have played, the Wii, though it's tied with the 360 since the 360 has my beloved Halo, and Oblivion,as well as Fable. As for those in which I haven't and I'm basing my opinion on what it has to offer, 3DS, choice was simple, it's just so beautiful. To the point were I am scaraficing Black and White even though I wasn't ecstatic over it any way.
Yay I finally got a layout! I feel like I am officially a member now, so this being the case, I don't know to much about chocolate hacks, but feel free to let me beta test any vanilla hacks.
SNES, no contest there whatsoever. I have major nostalgia for Super Nintendo because when I was a little kid, my older brothers owned NES which I was rarely able to play. My dad bought me a SNES for Christmas 1994 with Donkey Kong Country which amazed me and my brothers. SNES offered a huge variety of really awesome games that I would chose over any newer game, not just for the nostalgia purposes but because they're really awesome in general.
I think a post layout goes here somewhere...
Either the gamecube, PS3, Xbox360 or PC for me.

I loved the PS3 for it's exclusives and I just loved it when it was my only console I could play on.
But when I got the 360 I though that one was better for several reasons.
Yet the gamecube has been an important part of my childhood which shall never change.

But ever since I started to use steam, all of these consoles have gone to waste.

SMWHacking? I rest my case.
SMWCentral? I leave it to rest.

I only ever had gaming consoles by Nintendo, so there is not that much I can choose from, but I'd say my favorite one of those is the Nintendo DS.
Not because of the touchscreen, I actually never liked that, but because it has a very light screen (which already makes it 10 times better than the GBA) and you can play the old GBA games on it. Sadly, you can't play the even older Game Boy/Game Boy Color games on it, but still.

Oh, and there are some games for the Nintendo DS, which I really enjoyed, like Pokémon Soul Silver, Scribblenauts or New SMB.
In some sort of weirdness I prefer playing on PC and portability wise the PSP.

So...yeah.
Wii and GC: Other consoles Ive had are good aswell but these introducded me to nintendo wide variety of games. With the wii getting better with classics such as SMG and DKCR im glad to hear a pikmin game will be arriving hopefully this year :D
The PC. Games by Ninty are nice, but repititve and honestly, start rot apart after a while, Nostaglia is the only thing saving them basically, as they're all mostly samey except for YI.

But yeah, with the PC you have lovely games that reinvented the genres they were in (Half-life and other Valve games addign depth to the tired FPS genre, Command & Conquer and Starcraft for making RTS accessible and competitive, World of Warcraft popularizing the MMO, RPGs like Diablo and Fallout making RPGs more flexible and depth-filled, etc.), great replayability and mods allowing for better shelf life, and just plain fun. Not to mention emulation of other systems.
layouts suck
My favorite console was the Gamecube. Most of my favorite games are on that console (Metroid Prime, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Super Mario Sunshine, etc.) The Gamecube is also the console where I was introduced to The Sims, and both the Metroid and Zelda series (before I was convinced to buy Metroid Prime, The Sims, and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, I had no idea those series existed.) The only problem I have with the Gamecube is the fact that I lost nearly all of my Gamecube games when my grandparents moved (the Gamecube was at their house).

Nintendo DS. While I really like the Wii and GameCube, for some reason nowadays I can only bring myself to really, really enjoy handheld games for some reason. Oh, and I am definitely going to get the 3DS, just gonna wait a few months.
Good fucking bye.
snes cuz i can program it.

but gba micro is way cool. i wish i was less lazy so i could program that. tons of portable fun.

The SNES and Sega Genesis were the first two systems I owned and grew up with .. though honestly, I really only liked the Sonic series + Mortal Kombat on the Sega. The SNES, on the other hand, brought me tons of fun in my childhood (and even to this day, hence why I'm on SMWC). Games like Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Zelda, Super Castlevania IV, ActRaiser, Secret of Mana, F-Zero .. need I go on? There was something for everyone.

(oh, and it was one of the first movements to 16-bit as well, so yep.)
