What's your opinion?
Post.

Moved to this forum (despite the fact that there are already many threads like this, so idk, but it fits better here than in Talk).

Personally, my favourite video game is Super Mario All-Stars. Has always been my favourite. I also have a real preference for Super Mario Kart, Super Mario 64, Poy Poy (that one is rather obscure and unknown, I guess) and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Yeah, I am not exactly playing the newest games.

Sorry, I missed what forum I was in.

Super Mario All-Stars, or more specifically the SMAS version of SMB3. I played it to no end when I was younger. (occasionally swapping it for SMW or DKC2) I guess the all memories I have had playing it plus the fact it's a great game means that SMAS's status as my all-time favorite game will probably never change. (Yes, this also means I wasn't mad at all when a straight up port of SMAS was released for the Wii)

However,

If I had Mega Man X1 instead of SMAS when I was little, then MMX would be my favorite, simple as that.

Besides that the only other game that ever came close to topping SMAS would be the original Super Smash Bros. because of, oh guess what, memories + it's an awesome game.
faithless pile of filth
My favorite video games are inclusive to the consoles, for I cannot choose an absolute favorite. That would be unthinkable. xD

SNES: Super Mario World
N64: Super Mario 64 -or- Paper Mario 64
GC: Animal Crossing -or- Pikmin 1 -or- Pikmin 2
PS2: Jak 3

I love many others, but these are the ones that appeared in my mind first. ^_^
I would say my absolute favorite video game is Pokémon Emerald Version for GBA, allthough I'm not really playing that game anymore.

The reason is probably that when I started playing video games Pokémon was like hyped to no end and Nintendo had just released Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire Version and so of course I got one of them. I played the game a lot (and I really mean a lot) and when they released Pokémon Emerald Version it was just like the prior ones, but even better.
So yeah, it's a bit like with NeoSigma, it is my favorite game now, because I really enjoyed it back then (which doesn't mean that I dislike the game now, I still like playing it occasionally).
My all time favorite game is SMB3. I remember playing it so much in my younger child hood. (I played the GBA version) So many secrets to find, I always found something new every time I played.
I Like to eat cake and pies that are not lies

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future is great. Despite my normal hunger for action in video games, I love the gameplay (the puzzles are, for the most part, brilliant, and I like to explore), and the plot... I simply can't describe how much I loved it. Pokemon Black seems like a close second. I've been enjoying it even more then I enjoyed Pokemon Crystal, and I loved that game when I was young.
Good fucking bye.
Lost Kingdom 2, Baten Kaitos, Rogue Galaxy, Tales of Symphonia, SSBB, Jade Cocoon (1 and 2), just to name a few.
Your layout has been removed.

I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.
Hmm tough one, I'll just list my favorite game per system or else I shall go mad.

NES: Super Mario Brothers 1, there's no game that will top the original one for me.

SNES: Either Super Mario World or Super Mario RPG, both great games with excelent gameplay.

Nintendo 64: Hmm, tough one for me... It's either Starfox 64 or Majora's Mask, I enjoyed both of them and I still love to play them every now and then.

GameCube: Super Mario Sunshine one of the best Mario games ever made in my oppinion, loved it.

Wii: Twilight Princess is one of my favorite games of alltime, in my oppinion the best Zelda ever made though I have to say Mario Galaxy 2 was also a great game.

PC: Team Fortress 2, either get it or die, I love that game and no one shall ever change that oppinion for me no matter what you say.

Other titles I like are Tetris, Pokemon and Fire Emblem but yeah, let's not go too wild with this list now.

PC: Touhou Hisoutensoku

I don't really pick much games on my favorites list but these games are actually the ones i enjoyed that i can play them a lot of times without getting too much bored.
Chrono Cross, then Chrono trigger.I would say it's even better then Ocarina of Time, and it's even more amazing to me because for once the sequel is better then if not equal(to some) then the first.
Yay I finally got a layout! I feel like I am officially a member now, so this being the case, I don't know to much about chocolate hacks, but feel free to let me beta test any vanilla hacks.
The original Final Fantasy Tactics will most likely always and forever be my most favorite game ever. It's my most favorite FF title and the one I have logged the second largest number of hours into...ousted only by Final Fantasy XI which doesn't really count since it's an MMORPG~
PM:TTYD
LoZ:WW

Both solid Gamecube games that are perfect except for maybe excessive dialogue for the first and boring sailing for the second. The ones I'm most likely to recommend to others.

Mother 3

Best GBA game hands-down, excellent story, and I probably won't ever regret deriving my username from it. A game I can enjoy over and over again.

Touhou series

I can only narrow my favorite down to 7 and 10. The series I'm most likely to fanboy over, and will probably be the biggest inspiration in my future game designing.

Super Bonk

For nostalgia purposes. This game was my childhood, and it's a nice underrated SNES gem that more people should try. I've yet to get into the rest of the series though.
Probably my all-time favorite video game is Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door. I just had so much fun playing though it as many times as I have. It's truly a great game. (Fun fact: if I hadn't played Super Paper Mario [also a great game, by the way], I never would have thought of trying PM:TTYD.)

If not, then the closest runner-ups would have to be Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. Both awesome games that I could play over and over again, with great soundtracks to go along with them.

I'm probably retired tbh
Crash Bandicoot 2: Childhood memories right here. Music and graphics were great (and still hold up) but the gameplay itself was awesome. I loved all the different settings and nods to the first game, and while it feels a bit on the short and easy side today, it's still a ton of fun to replay. I can't describe what makes it so much fun, and it's my favorite entry in the series by a long shot.

Professor Layton and the Unwound Future: Best game in a superb series. There's a huge amount of puzzles and they're clever and fun, graphics are nice and have amazing cutscenes, and even the music is a bump up from other entries. I am not exaggerating when I say it has the best story I've ever experienced in a video game. It's truly astounding, and the ending will hold a place in my heart for years.

Donkey Kong Country Returns: It's more or less everything I want in a game. Classic sidescrolling at its best, each level feels really different, there are tons of creative ideas and flat-out fun, there's a surprising amount of replay value with unlockables, puzzle pieces, and a certain extra mode. A shame it has a few awkward controls (such as rolling) and a couple bad design choices, since it rocks otherwise.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door: A lot of people have mentioned what makes this one great already. I did feel like some parts (looking at you, Keelhaul Key) were far too linear in design, but Rougeport was quite memorable and there was tons of stuff to do. It's also one of the few games that actually lets you save past the final boss, which is a welcome change.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney: This is tough, since as anyone who's played the series knows, each game is split up between 4-5 different cases. My absolute favorite case comes from Apollo Justice (4-1) but I really didn't enjoy the other ones. Same for my second favorite in Justice for All. (2-4) I did think the first game had some of the better cases though: 1-4 and 1-5 rocked, and 1-3 was probably the only decent filler case in the series. Plus, the original had some of the best music and introduced the bulk of the characters in the series.

Live-A-Live: Yeah, I keep harping on this obscure Japanese-only SNES game, but it's something. From a time-based strategy game in the Western chapter to choosing a Kung Fu student to change in the Chinese chapter, there's a level of variety I rarely see in RPG's. Plus... it has a pretty amazing story twist toward the end that follows one of my absolute favorite archetypes. The music is downright incredible too, especially the boss theme and Wings That Don't Reach.

Probably forgot a couple, so I might edit later.
