I know I may sound a bit like a noob for saying this but...... why are my exits not working on my overworld? I have one set working, but another where Mario walks on like nothing is there. 1 of 2 things happen with this:
1. The exit resets even if I save
2. I have the exits set properly, but it is just ignored

NOTE: I set them up the same way (but different names) as my first pair of exits, which work perfectly. They are the same set too, just one is the exit that looks like it is under the ledge. help? (P.S. please PM me your response if you can....)
So remember kids! If you ever get caught having tosave a princess from a foreign land after getting dragged down a drain pipe, jumping while spinning in a circle can help you greatly by allowing you to jump on spinning saw blades, ghosts, and allow you to control your jump better!

Can I change Mario's pallette to anohter sprite pallette, such as pallette 9?

So yeah, I presume it works the same as any other yxppccct property bytes(or whatever the hell you call them), but I can't check. Remember that there is two bytes, though.

Yeah, so the hex numbers you want to add are '02' and '42' to replace the '00' and '40'. (These are for palette 9)

Do note that it also does this for the OW, so you need palette 9 on the OW to be the same, or just get rid of Mario's sprite.

Hey I have a question a small simple question.

So I'm still kind of new to using YYCHR, but I wanted to use the spot light along with the castle sprites so I added in the spot light graphics to a copied castle sprites graphics since I didn't want to replace them permanently

Anyways my only question is in the Super GFX Bypass where do I load my GFX with the castle sprites and the spot light.

SP 1, 2, 3 or 4?

Long answer, to make sure you've got it right:
What you will need to do is look at your Super GFX Bypass dialogue and see what GFX file is in SP4 (as this is the one that the spotlight uses). I will assume this is the normal castle sprites, SP4=3. Put the spotlight GFX into SP4, and you are done.

Short answer, because you probably don't want to read that:

Are you sure you're setting the extra bits for the sprite correctly? for custom ones, it's 2 and 3.

I've got a problem with two exits. If I move the main entrance in a level the midway entrance moves the exact same hight as the main entrance. Is there anyway to fix this?

No, Unfortunately, that is how SMW was written. There may be some way to hack it with ASM, but there is not simple solution.

Yes it would. If you paste the palette-changed one on a new slot, then insert that block through the Insert Objects > Direct Map16 Access. and then put the triangle block over it.

hi im having trouble with the mario overworld sprite. ive been hacking for a while but stoped for a year or so and just got back in to it. i tried moving him to a diffeent spot on the map but everytime i try playing he keeps showing up in the original spot i didnt forget to save or anything either please help.

Have you tried using an empty save slot?

I have a question:

The Magikoopa magic sprite doesn't move back or forth, which i don't want. I want to make it going downleft, and i would like to know if there is a hex edit, or do I have to insert a custom sprite?

@PokefreakofBACON: I think the only way would be spinning the munchers to sideways in YY-CHR, inserting them as ExGFX and using ExAnimation to animate them.


Question: I'm using ExAnimation on the custom On-Off-Block to make its graphics change when an On-Off-Switch is hit. It all works fine, however the upper half of the block always changes like 2 or 3 frames before the lower half. I have seen a lot of hacks that didn't have this issue, so how would I fix this?
