I did all of this. Now, the error I get is "Exception in thread 'main' java.lang.NoClasDefFoundError: AddMusic".

For those of you who may have problems, I have found some solutions that might work.

If you’re having problems with Addmusic, then you can hopefully find help here.

If you get this error:
'java' not recognized as an internal or external program, operable program, or batch file.
or something similar, then either you don't have java installed, or java cannot be found.
You can install Java here

If you have Java installed, then you need to follow these steps to designate the location of java:

(1) Open My Computer->C:( or what ever your main drive is)
(2) Look for a folder named j2sdk1.4.2_16 or something fairly similar to that
(3) Open the folder and look for "java"
(4) Right click it and go to properties
(5) Go to where it says "location" and copy all of the information there.
(6) Close everything, and then go to Start-> Control Panel
Note: When you open control panel, it will either have a blue or white background, if it is blue, then go to the menu on the left and select "classic view"
if you do not see the menu, then make sure that "Search" and "folders" are unselected
(7) Go to system, and then select the tab labeled "advanced"
(8) Select "Environment Variables"
(9) In the bottom part look for a selection named "path". If you do not find it, select "new". Put PATH in the top blank, and the information you copied in the bottom; If you have it, and then double click on it, and paste the information in the bottom.
(10) Try addmusic.

If it works, then congratulations! If you get a different error, then keep reading.

"main" noclassdeffounderror
If you get this error, then it means that java cannot find the class file its looking for, and is fixed by going to Start->control Panel (in classic view)->system->advanced->environment variables, and deleting CLASSPATH.
After you have done this, try addmusic. If it works, Congratulations! If you get yet another error, keep reading.

Unsupported class version error
This problem can arise for a few different reasons, you may have one, or all of the reasons.

I. Java is not the most recent version.
just install the newest version of Java (version 6 update 3)

II. Multiple Java versions installed.
go to start-> control panel-> add/remove programs. scroll down until you see java. if you have more than one delete all non version 6 update 3 versions.

III. PATHEXT not set correctly.
Go to tart-> control Panel (in classic view)-> system-> advanced-> environment variables and look for PATHEXT. If not there select "new" and in the top blank put PATHEXT, then add is with the following information in the bottom:
.COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WSF;.WSH

If you do have it then double click on it and insert the following information:
.COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WSF;.WSH

Try addmusic One last time. It should work.

This should solve any problem you might get.
Thank you, Must. XD Happy!

EDIT: Gah! Failure! None of that works. I still get the same error, even though CLASSPATH was never there in the first place, and the PATHEXT text was exactly the same as in the instructions. I also tried all other steps as well. o_. I'll re-install Java again, and see if that helps.

DOUBLE EDIT: It doesn't. AUGH! DX

Credit to Kyoseron for setting up the port.
I spent awhile getting the right tempo and instruments.
It sounds very much like the original.

A small question; does Addmusic work for Windows 2000 and higher? Thanks.

AS IF I KNOW WHAT TO PUT HERE.

Hack Status: Cat Adventure Deluxe
-100% Undone
Derp.
Since 2006

I don't see why it wouldn't...
It works on XP I know for sure.
I haven't done a song in so long, I decided it was time .. and it just may have been my best yet.

"Key Mirage"

It's 1:05 in length, so pretty long. In case your brain isn't working, yes, it is a level song, not an OW song.

I would love some feedback. Thanks.

Yes, it's working on Windows 2000.
It's even working on Windows Vista.

S.N.N. - Sounds great. You have a definite style to your music, if you gave me 10 pieces of music made by different people, I could definitely tell which one was yours.

The only thing I notice is that the melodies in a lot of your songs are very similar. There are seperate sets of notes that often start with a few short notes, and then end on a long note. This causes the sound that your songs create to be limited, but it also brings out a strong sense of style. So it's up to you, mix up your rhythms and diversify your music, or keep doing what your doing, which sounds great and has a strong style.

I noticed that too, but I actually like that. It gives the hack a very own and so far, unique theme, and besides that, even the original SMW had only one main melody in the levels, even though it was arranged in very different styles to fit the scenery.

But overall I like a consistent music style in a hack (or game in general) much more than putting a lot of songs from different composers in a hack to have dozens of music styles in a hack. For a while people said: don't mix graphic styles in a hack, that would make it look unprofessional, so now you can also say: Don't mix too many different music styles in a hack, it may sound unprofessional...

So, I can't wait for Keytrastrophe's full soundtrack (and for the hack of course...) ;)

Thanks guys. You'll be happy to know I actually have an 18-track soundtrack for Keytastrophe so far that I may release sooner or later if enough people want it. I want to fix a up a few old melodies and repost them. (IE. this updated Boothoven theme

But yeah, thanks for the positive comments.
The boothoven music is much more exciting now!

I have a problem:

I made a copy of my SMW ROM and rename it. I expanded it t0 1MB and inserted the tracks using command prompt. When I tried to open the ROM with Lunar Magic it said: "The ROM's checksum is incorrect, which means the file is probably corrupt. Although Lunar Magic can still open the ROM, it may be wise to replace it."

How can I solve this problem?
Did you INITed the ROM?
Yes, I've put first "addmusic romname.smc INIT".
;blah

When I enter the level all sound disappears and it freezes when I exit the level. What's wrong?
I need of help using the Tinymm. When I convert the MIDI, all the text is in the same line. The "-1" options in the program is the unique which I can use. How to solve it?
Now I leave my IPS patches of my hacks for everyone play and edit as you want to.

It definitely wouldn't be all those >'s. Nope, couldn't be those at all, because everyone knows SMW is able to handle octaves of higher than 6, and you have about an octave 30, so yep, that can't be it.

Black Yoshi: Try opening the MML with different files (Notepad, Wordpad, Microsoft Word). I didn't really understand if this is what you were asking, but try it.
Thanks for that. Truth is, all the spaces are actually <s, but the post refuses to show them right. Reposts of it also fail, so that's why there isn't one in this post.
Yeah. You'll have to post any song code inside two < code > tags, without the spaces. However, when posting code, it's preferred that you post a link to the TXT file instead that way people can help easier.
