Super War World [Demo]

Standard

This is my first hack using lunar magic. Still getting the hang of things but making good progress. I would like any feedback after you play this if you could (may include screenshots if you need to). Have Fun! I in NO WAY claim the music on here as my own. I would like to shout out to RedToonLink for helping me get started. If these screenshots don't sell you, check out videos on youtube "Super War World - 'Levelname'". NOTE: Check back for updates. These are gonna mainly be bug fixes but will release big updates as they come (aka, new sections to my map). On my To Do list:
Finish world map (including a volcano, mountains, and a dessert)
Think of names for the levels.
Think of more game references then Cave Story and Legend of Zelda.
Add custom sprites and bosses.
Fix glitch with the second OW exit....

{UPDATE}
(P.S. Sorry for the HUGE delay... I kinda forgot.)
Built worlds 3-5 and 2 levels in world 6.
Changed some graphics (Status bar, load screen)
ScreenShots: (Some levels shown are incomplete but in the demo if you wish to try)

[WARNING] Videos may be slightly outdated and the levels may not be the exact same...
So remember kids! If you ever get caught having tosave a princess from a foreign land after getting dragged down a drain pipe, jumping while spinning in a circle can help you greatly by allowing you to jump on spinning saw blades, ghosts, and allow you to control your jump better!

Screenshots? I'm not just gonna play some random hack without any sort of way to see how it looks.

(Even though I have a feeling it'll look like garbage...)
Good fucking bye.

I thought of that IMMEDIATLY after posting this. I got some on the way (and note that if there are graphics glitches, I am aware AND trying to fix them. Namely a Map16 glitch.

Remember that you can edit screenies into your first post. Felt a sudden need to point that out.
Good fucking bye.
Hey there, so I was feeling generous enough to try it out. I finished most of the demo (Since I'm a speed runner). I'm not sure if you wanted me to post screen shots to the mistakes that needed to be fixed so I won't without your permission.

Bonzai Flats: It seemed like a slightly redone version of the original level 105, and the level seemed kind of dead. No enough sprites or coins.

Buzzy Bunker: Didn't really have a compliant for this level.

Mushroom Waters: I actually thought you did good on this level, despite the one of the platforms sprite glitch

Yoshi's Post: All though there's cut off at parts, I thought this was a pretty fun level and I like the background palette.

Shadow Forest: I actually didn't find many problems with this level Accept for bomb bomb that's looks like it's suppose to be used as a light. (Might want to fix that) and that tree at the end

Boo's Abode: Not really many complaints here accept there were a few boos that disappeared when they moved.

Koopa Plains: Not a bad level but I found quiet a bit of cut offs here. There was a problem with the Background too but I don't know how to explain it without screen shots.

That's as far as I got. I say over all it's a decent hack, pretty good for your first though. It needs work however. Fix the cut offs, try and spice up the levels and I'd use custom palettes, but that's just my opinion. I'll admit, it was somewhat better then I expected.

Putting images like that stretches the tables. Not good.

Also on the title screen... The bullet blasters cause cutoff with the ground behind it, and I wouldn't recommend using the big letters like that.

But this does look somewhat decent. Might check this out later.
Good fucking bye.

Just so you know, there are 3 more levels. The main exit to Koopa Plains, The secret of Koopa Plains (XD) and the secret of Boo's Abode.

Also, I am gonna try quickly to fix the cutoffs (including the background on Koopa Plains, I just am having problems and don't know why). Also, I set the Dark Room sprite for Shadow Forest, and the bombomb is supposed to be the light. dunno how to fix that (you know? I want the darkness not th bomb)

Oh..I guess both secrets I'm unsure to get then. However I did The water level. I didn't many problems, just mainly the background.

Well I'm not quiet sure what you mean for the bomb. If you mean you don't want the bomb to be there at all, just delete it.

But if you wanted the spot light to be there but not the bomb you have to set it set it to the correct GFX (Which is Ninji)

I don't want a light (or in this case, a bomb) but I want the darkness. Makes the level, i dunno, suit the theme?

Also *SPOILER* to get the secrets:
A) Boo's Abode: Go to the normal exit but hit the coin block above it and make a platform. then jump onto a ledge above that (should be the VERY top of the screen from the main exit door).

B) Koopa Plains: You need a cape (2 makes life easier). After the checkpoint, run, fly, and float to where the Green box outlines are. There should be a key. Take the key to a pit just ahead (just past the yellow boxes). Drop the key in it and run back and fly over the yellow boxes. There is a POW. Take it down to the pit with the key and activate it there (do not fear. you must activate it there or you CAN'T make it to the lock.)

Alrighty I shall do that soon. When i've tested the other level I edit this post with feedback.

As for having the darkness without the light I don't recall a way to do that unfortunately.

alright. I will see if I can get the program for adding sprites working. If I do I will try to find a Darkness sprite. as for now..... that is what we have to deal with unfortunatly (thank goodness that I didn't have a switch for that...... it would look realy crazy.....)

Hey I just may have found a solution to this problem; it may require some YYCHR work however. That's if your still having this problem.

Doesn't look too bad, but I don't like the red forest background palette, maybe make it darker so it's easier on the eyes?Free counters!

HEY!!! NEW FEEDBACK FROM SOMEONE ELSE! This are comments I like to see. Which red tree background? On Yoshi's Post? Sure (but it may be just you who doesn't like it, because I get alot of positive response on that exact palette, but whatever)

This one:

It looks OK, but I think it'd be a little too bright to the person playing it. The same goes for the background on the title screen, but if you don't want to change it, it's not a problem, since it isn't too bad.Free counters!

Like I said, I may change it, but barely. I like it, everyone I asked has liked it (other than you.... beside the point), and it suits the theme in my mind. I do understand where you are coming from though.
