Huh.
It's based on what he said to me in a Youtube PM. I can't share it (but maybe he can), but it involved a long chat transcript sent to him by a few members here who pretty much mocked him all the way through, and he says that he's being bullied for being associated with me.
QuoteGood looking out. Don't quote me on this but I'm sure they hate me because I'm associated with cheatmaster-30 who they hated for a while.
Basically, Leod, sonikku, MarioEdit and some bloke called koyuki insulted his sprites, called him annoying, sad he has a bad reputation and mocked him in general.
He may have visited recently, but he barely posts any more because of this.
Such behaviour arguably shouldn't be tolerated. Heck, I haven't seen him much online recently, I wonder if people have upset him that much...

Also, since when is "negativity" the same thing as "offering advice as to why they think the hack is bad". I'm not in the mood for getting into the whole debate again, but bells and whistles should be going off if most people think it's the same style as Brutal Mario. It's because it is.
Because most of the comments haven't even addressed the hack, just seen a few Brutal Mario elements and gone 'this hack will automatically be bad' as a result.
And bells and whistles going off... that makes no sense. Must be some... random quote from wherever, since I've never heard that phrase over here.
Google says nothing about it.
And trust me, it's not the same style. I like Wario Land far more than carol, and like Kirby and such far less. When did carol reference the Wario series?

If you want to overload your hack with clashing graphics and bosses for the "pretty much express purpose" of impressing people, then all the power to you! But expect negative comments, because they WILL come, whether you want them or not.
Except I'm deliberately making sure the graphics don't clash. Sure, the whole game doesn't have one style, but each level sticks to a certain game's style, after something Artemendo from Walugious said:
http://www.waluigious.com/
He said the levels with one theme looked good, those without looked too clashing, so I've tried to keep all the game's graphics consistent on a per level basis.

leod: Read over the announcements sticky again. You were the reason it was made. First and final warning.
Sigh, all these threads end up with drama...
Guess beating the entire demo hosted on this website and playing tons of tech demos I found on YouTube and hosted on his website don't count then.
I meant they hadn't played this hack as well as Brutal Mario to see that this hack isn't that much like it...
At this rate, I should probably do a level by level comparison to show it's not that much like Brutal Mario.
Geez he didn't say you were ripping off Brutal Mario, he said your hacks are about the same; random levels (what do DKC/Wario/Kirby levels do in a Mario hack, let alone in the same world etc)
The first two are set in the same world, it's simple Mario canon. I guess you've never bothered to look up what actual Mario theorists think or to check Waluigious or Mariology or Coin Heaven or one of those other sites? I see nothing implausible about the first two being in the same verse as Mario, and nor does TV Tropes:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/SuperMarioBros
See also Donkey Kong's cast, who
share a loosely defined universe with Mario and company.
And I presume you don't like either Brutal Mario or Mario LD much then...
bosses that amaze newbies but are coded terribly
You haven't even seen the code for most of the Brutal Mario bosses, or some of the ones dahnamics made for this.
overly detailed and clashing graphics
Except they don't clash. Are you seriously implying the Wario Land series graphics clash?
Also when did dahnamics leave, that's great news.
Alright, I don't know what you and your jerk friends have against him, but learn some damn respect. The guy tried to code all his own bosses and sprites, and it was apparently pretty hard work.
Besides, he's a grad student, so respect your elders! Or some manners, wherever those have gone recently.
bosses that amaze newbies but are coded terribly, overly detailed and clashing graphics and custom stuff for the sake of having custom stuff.
