cool. my only complaint would be the graphics clash in SMW.

Hm...decent sprite, but its behavior doesn't match the original, and it could use some animation.

----------------

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
1.) There's a slight pause of the yellow spider doing nothing whenever it hits the ground before jumping again.
2.) The hitbox is off.
3.) Lack of animation.
4.) Why are the red spiders gliding along the ground? I thought those were supposed to jump a predefined path.

Nice idea but I don't really like them.

Basically what I was gonna say.

Also Ixtab, use some other graphics? Redraw them to look SMWish? #w{=9}
meh
The problem with the animation, if what dahnamics said to me is right, is that you can't find the sprites from the enemy online at all, so you've basically got to get the graphics from a screenshot, maybe from Mario Wiki or something.

That's why the spider sprite has just one frame. Presumably, like myself, dahnamics doesn't like using emulators to rip graphics from.

As for Mario's Nightmare Quest? Well, it's currently on Fusion Gameworks, ROM Hacking.net or the GCN at the moment.

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

Good Sprite
but I suggest you add another movement because it seems that the sprite is stationary or not moving, but it is good

Well, I'm going on what dahnamics said a few weeks/months back when I first tested the sprite. And those are GBA version graphics, which are far lighter and cheerier than SNES ones.

Nothing that readjusting the palette hues can't fix.

I have been messing around with mikeyk's boss bass. Currently, it still needs some improvements and a few bug fixing. But yeah, i tried to make it closer to SMB3. Not even close. XD The layer 1 scroll thing is just an extra though. Anyways:

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-67E5P3uilY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-67E5P3uilY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
The Layer 1 scroll is a nice effect! That wasn't released here yet, was it? As for the Boss Bass, I'll say it's improved. The one thing that any version of the sprite would really need working on is its water interaction.

Preview of a beta of A Second Mario Thing boss.

Shows what most of the battle will be like, however there's still a bit to go.

Clicky

Go to YI1, hit select, move a bit, hit select again.

Still buggy, but it's coming along really nicely. It's for my A2MT level.

haha that's pretty neat although I don't see how it'll be used then again it's unfinished.

Layer 2 smash

It's self explanatory. The old layer 2 smashes of SMW used to smash downwards instead of upwards, but mine can smash either ways depending on if the extra bit of the sprite is set or not. It's also customizable as in how long the screen shakes, how fast it smashes, and how far it goes. I also forced it to take effect over all screens of the level, but in doing this, the different 'smash cycles' that occur as you go through the level were disabled.

Edit:
Layer 2 smash, left/right
Looks very nice, and I like the concept of layer 2 smash generators that go other directions. However, personally I'm more interested in seeing the sideways version because it would allow people to make levels that work like certain towers in New Super Mario Bros/New Super Mario Bros Wii with horizontal mega spikes and such like (or maybe like the horizontal smashers in one of the Donkey Kong Country Returns factory levels). So yeah, the up version is neat, but the sideways layer 2 smash generator will open up way more possibilities in ROM hacking.

SPC HACKING!.

Well, not really actually. This is only using my more.bin with custom sound effects and code insertion. Hoping the ease of doing this will encourage other people to do similar effects. These are the two sound effect files:

Code
;Turn on echo
@8 v00
$ED

$65 $00 ;$6500

$00 $13 ;$13 bytes

$E8 $35 ;mov a, #$35
$8D $2C ;mov y, #$2C
$3F $97 $06	;call $0697
$8D $3C ;mov y #$3C
$3F $97 $06	;call $0697
$E8 $FF ;mov a, #$FF
$8D $4D ;mov y, #$4D
$3F $97 $06	;call $0697
$6F ;ret

Yep, simple as that.
Kinda neat.

The concept is ala Chronotron and The Company of Myself.
