My latest ASM stuff I made. Pertinent ASM stuff:

SnesMouse (To move the pointer, obviously)

CX4 Expansion chip (Used to get the angle to throw and point and also to rotate the hand graphics to point towards the cursor)

The snowballs are cluster sprites, but they have object and sprite interaction, along with interaction with Mario.

This was the tutorial for my WLDC level. Yeppers.
Hory shet that is amazing, huflungdu. Words cannot explain how awesome I think that ASM is.

NSMB Styled Yoshi Coins

Note: A2MT Spoilers.

Actually I kinda forgot how exactly the star coins in NSMBW work but this is what I thought it was like except the outline would be a darker collectable coin. And it's too late for me to go test on my NSMBW game.

I never through that making patches is so simple ;)

I'd have to say, this was one of the more fun projects to code. Getting back at tubular for all the grief it caused me in my childhood was probably part of it.

The No Powerup intro is actually nothing but a levelasm code; the intro screen is the first screen of the level, and the rest of the level comes after that. It uses two freerams in order to control what Mario is doing and for how long he does it. For some reason, the mosaic effect refuses to render, at least with the method I'm using...

For anyone unfamiliar with Donkey Kong Country Returns, you control the barrel by pressing A or B to increase the barrel's angle of flight. Oh, and I've already fixed the bug where the barrel goes behind the scenery at the end; that was some debug in a vain effort to make Mario go in front of the barrel.

For the record, the winning run here was done in a single take; no savestates.

Also big thanks to Sonikku for the barrel graphics.

Dear people: please use these in the SMWCP2.
*Removes sunglasses dramatically*
My GOD.

I lolled when I first saw Mario riding the barrel. That is freaking cool.

I like it, but I think it could benefit from using more rotational frames. As it is it looks a bit choppy. If you like, I can give you some graphics for the barrel that give it more rotations (Or I'm sure you could just use rot-sprite to make your own).
Pretty awesome. It doesn't look like it controls like the original, though, but that's probably just the lack of rotation frames.
I should get a new layout.

Probably won't, though.
Sweetness! I'd use this rocket barrel thing in my hack if it became available. Great use of coding to change the music. I wonder if custom music would work the same way...

Great job!

It would work... as long it's in this same music bank (bank holds 4 songs), but I believe the AddMusicM allows to directly write music from other music bank to $1DFB. There is example from level which I made some time ago.

I'm actually really hoping to stray away from dynamic GFX; At the level of rotation you're talking about, it would take up a monstrous amount of ROM space. I'd really love to be able to use an enhancement chip or something of the sort to do that...
Now with extra girl and extra hacker
Eh, I showed this off in the ASMWCPII ASM thread, might as well show it off here. Yoshi's Island style flutter jumping:

Very good, but I think you should reset the "get one up after 8 stomps" ram after each jump, else is very easy to get 1ups.
I've gotta say, that's one of the smoothest FJ's I've seen Kipernal. Although I haven't seen Noobish's/forget if I did.

Good point; I don't think I ever did make a video showing off my flutter-jump...

Well that's resolved now.
You know, I've seen so many hacks that were shitty copies of other games, but this one is actually done very well and looks pretty awesome. Really feels like NSMB Wii.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Yeah, and whatever patches made the red coins and counters for eating berries was awesome, too! That's something worth showing off!

Oh look, I'm showing off "ASM"...

Sort of inspired by Wyatt's speed porting video and the person I was doing this for. Funfact: Wyatt was porting the song in his speed porting video for the same person I was working for.

Hey. Haven't seen me in a while. Just created Springin' Spider sprites based on their counterpart in DKC3.
