All base ROMs should be opened with LM version 2.12 or lower

Yep.
Seeing this really makes me wonder how close we are to officially starting on this... I eagerly anticipate the day level sign-ups begin!
I can't wait to make a level when it does start, this is a little early don't you think though?
If you want to chat some interesting people, check out my new forum at: http://bloodybalcony.forumotion.ca/
Level signups aren't ready yet, and won't be until we get some other necessary things into the base ROM (such as the collectible coin system). I just wanted to post this for the people who are doing things such as graphics and whatnot.
Does this contain AddmusicM? It has been suggested many times, but so far no statement about whether it would be used or not has been made so far. Just asking because it has to be patched at the very beginning.
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Well, I can't find any of the btsd blocks from BT blocks that work... maybe I can have a folder that has all of the blocks?

So there will be a team for the Global graphics or it will be like the last time?

In my opinion, there should be a team consisting of a few members for editing global graphics, preferably ones with a consistent graphics style to avoid clashing as much as possible. Or people could just show off their work and then we can decide whether it'll fit the hack or not.
I kind of like your 2nd option, Iceguy. Why should a team of people just make GFX not everyone will be comfortable using when we can just vote on it? I kind of like that idea.

Voting for

a Normal Grassland type.
a 2nd Normal Grassland type
Cave
Lava Cave
Castle
2ndary castle
3rdindary castle
Final Castle (I'd like to try my hand at that!)
Underwater
ect...

The works. If so, may I see about making some final castle GFX and let you guys see. I've been trying my hands at making EXGFX, and though I can't do BG's, I can do FG's kinda good. If you need to, I can show you my latest GFX I've made for HRR, a forest and dead lava forest.

Oh sorry, I thought I implied in another thread that we would use addmusicM. Yes, although the base ROM doesn't contain any data for it yet.

I'll probably set up a team of a couple of users in order to prevent clashes. This will come soon.

Ah, good news. As I recently discovered this also allows for custom boss sound effects which you can specify inside music files. Could come in handy sometimes.

Oh, good. I assume we're not going to fix the bugs in it (see this post and subsequent posts) before use? And are we using .brr samples at all?

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.
Kipernal posted about a "fix" for the echo issue in one of the threads in this forum so that it works on BSNES perfectly (not going to dig for it, but when the time comes, I'll clarify it). Either way, it's better than using Romi's right now, so even if it's not perfect, it's a step in the right direction.

The better question is: Do you know anyone who can do it?

Alone? Probably not, except the creators, smkdan, and Romi. But S.N.N., Kipernal, and Kil have delved into SPC hacking, and p4plus2 and others can program tools, so we might be able to do it as a community effort. (If I really want to work on my Perl skills...)

If there was enough information on SPC programming and if I knew what exactly causes Addmusic to glitch up I'd probably give it a shot myself, but right now there's nothing I can do.

So, the Addmusic being used is AddmusicM?
Sounds reasonable, though we don't have much BRR songs, and I know we aren't using any Japanese tracks in this since the last one didn't use any Jap stuff unless it was submitted here or something.

As far as I know the point was not to use any samples, anyways, to avoid style clashing.

Actually, the point was to make sure it functions on all emulators, and since M gives us a better chance than Romi's/Carol's, going with that would be the best option.
Will there be a chance that SMWCP2 will contain sampled (so BRR-songs, using AddmusicM) ports/custom compositions? I don't know about the size difference between BNK and BRR samples, but if it doesn't take up a big space, I think a few sampled ports would be great. I expect a "no" answer though, since we didn't have much free space left neither in the first part. Just askin'.
