Death upon level exit...

Hey,

I'm experiencing a problem playing through my levels, but also even the levels that I haven't yet edited, that I haven't experienced before...

When I reach the exit, in a level such as 0CB, Mario falls down between the two mushroom ledges at the end and dies, making the level impossible.

Has anyone had this before? Is there a fix?

Thanks,

- Try to extend the mushroom length so there's enough room for mario to walk while the level is ending.

- Remove the mushrooms for other kind of blocks.

Just some suggestions. I'm just making my possible to help people.

The mushroom platforms only go up to a certain length, meaning 2 are needed for Mario to exit with - Mario falls between the 2, even though they're as close as they can be.

They're not even ones I've placed myself, just ones that came with the game like in 0CB (check it out) that have just suddenly stopped working...

Well then just use a diferent type of ledge if the mushroom ledge isn't working.

Well there is that option, but obviously a fix would be preferable.

Ok, a fix... try using Map16 tiles for the center part of the mushroom, and for the ends (Where Mario Falls), edit the tiles so that they act like tile 106 (106 - only the top of the tile is solid).

Then save your changes, and add the newly edited edge pieces. If they don't work, then you can resort to making act like 130.
Maybe you could arrange the platforms like this?

If the platform can't extend far enough, add more tiles through direct map16 access.

Huh? It's just a screenshot of 10 seconds of LM work...

Thanks guys, I'm sure I can find plenty of solutions in there :)

It's just weird that it happened...

If this means anything... I can see 4 mushroom edge pieces in the Map16, 2 set to act like tile 109, 1 set to act like 10A and one to 10B.

I was going to say the exact same thing and you beat me to it. ^_^

If none of those work, you could make the mushroom ledge end just before the exit, so you'd have more room to walk. (Not sure if this'd help because I don't know how far those platforms can stretch.)

Like someone pointed out, I can use the Map16 to make them stretch as far as I want ^.^

So thanks guys :)
