NEW ASM/Sprite/block request thread

When you touch a ?-Sphere in a vertical level, it don't fades out, or?
I'm not entirely sure. I do know that hitting goals in vertical levels causes time to freeze and no fade to happen. I'd like to recreate something like that to use in horizontal levels. The MAIN thing I want to do is fix the fade because it has a lot of bad interaction with the background and foreground colors in most of my levels. Stopping Mario would also be a big boost, but isn't completely necessary...
Isn't something like that in Spritetool v1.35?
My request is simply a 32x32 blurp. Yeah that fish that just goes in a streight line at a constant speed and at the same speed as a regular blurp.

I would like to request the Nega-Coin, If you collect it, Mario loses a coin. I would also like it if it can have different values (5, 10, 20) and/or it could force mario to lose all his coins. Something that can really stop you from collect coins to buy stuff is good :)

I have a Custom Block request. If this has already been requested and/or done, slay me accordingly and redirect me with a link, 'cause I admit I'm too lazy to read through 11 pages of posts to find out. >:B

I want a tile that can be blown up by, say, a Bob-Omb explosion, turning the tile into something else (the easiest would probably be the next tile on the list). Is this possible, and will someone consider constructing it for me? ^_^

I hate ASM... I know very little about it, and naturally, as humans, we fear what we don't understand...

I once made a sprite that could only be killed by Bob-Ombs. However, icegoom has something much better if you want to talk to him about it. His version is an invisible sprite which lays on top of an actual brick, and when killed, turns the block into a blank tile.
Holy cow, that IS much better. That way we can set whatever blocks we want to be blowuppable, and even make secret passages and stuff. I'll have to talk to him. Thanks! :)

If I recall correctly, Icegoom made those blocks by editing the GFX of the Bowser statue, and placed a tile that shows the crumbled brick underneath it. That way when the statue explodes it shows the crumbled GFX. The main restriction of doing this is that the bob-omb exploding blocks can't be stacked up.

He got new ones from a Japanese hacker which are placeable anywhere and "float" so that they can be stacked. You can also have multiple ones in the same level which use different graphics.

The one I made did much the same. It was a floating sprite that could be stacked, based somewhat on the Bowser statue's attributes. Mario could stand on it and couldn't pass through, and only bob-ombs would destroy it. Other sprites passed through, however. Since his has a solid block underneath you can avoid that.
Okay, here's a new request, this time a Sprite request.

COBRAT. I want him, and I couldn't find him by searching the board. I thought maybe I could get one based off the Snifit custom sprite, but you know how I am with ASM... I looked through the code and just about lost it after five minutes. None of it makes any sense. I couldn't even figure out how to make him 16x32 instead of 16x16.

Think anyone can get him to behave like he did in SMB2? Not the ones that pop out of the jar, I mean the ones in the sand that run around. Popping out of the ground wouldn't be necessary, but I suppose if someone wants to give that a shot too by using Monty Mole routines, that would be paragon.

Dang, someone's gonna need to teach me ASM sometime so I can do the shit myself instead of beg... :(

Heh, those requests start to increase. They started to get beyond my skills, and this thread is ignored once again. People who need a simple request, Just look at the RAM map first, and make them by using it. The RAM map is the most important thing in ASM.

You guys should start reading my tutorial, the first chapter, for very simple requests.

Anyways, I'll try to start with the custom sprites, although I cant make a single one. Ohh, what challenging, also I will learn more ASM! <_<

Only if they're not totally beyond the one reading them. :( But yeah, I checked that one out, it didn't help.

Strange, too, 'cause normally I'm a computer guy and can get this stuff...

Edit: I think I could get a Cobrat to work by taking a Snifit and doing this to it:
-Making it 16x32
-Setting the bullet to shoot from 16 pixels higher
-Doubling its walking speed
-Cutting the wait-until-fire and shake-before-fire times to lower amounts

There might be a code somewhere in there that I could copy from Birdo or Fire Bros. that change its top tile when it's firing, too.

Of course, I don't know how to do any of this... The only way I know how to change .asm files is the sprite tilemaps, and I managed to change the Fire Bro sound effect when he fired too, but that's it.

Oh btw, it lets you pass when you EXACTLY have 3 yoshi coins. If you want Mario to pass when he has 3 or more yoshi coins, change BEQ to BPL.
