I wouldn't recommend using those rising spikes all over the place; they seem to artificially increase the difficulty when combined with that gimmick you're using for the level.

Still, it's looking quite good so far. :>

But seriously, that level is awesome. I love the gimmick you used for it, it's been awhile since I've seen anyone use that gimmick in their hack, everyone always uses the side-scroller...

Might I suggest some sort of message box at the start of the level with info on this gimmick?

Other than that it looks really good, IIRC spikes have a maximum falling speed so those looping spikes won't infinitely become harder as they go.

Graphics are amazing!!! (as usual, but completely worth mentioning!)
Level needs a bit more coins though.
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Looks like those trees have Thwomp symbols. But as Sadistic said, you may want more coins/Yoshi coins, though you may have collected them already when you took your screenshots...

I like the mix of ExGFX and vanilla GFX, and the palettes seem to indicate a deep forest, very nice. If you're going for that kind of feel, you may want a darker BG as well.

Also, it could use more enemies, unless you've defeated them as well.
(No current projects, lost them all.....)

I'd recommend to hint at the fact you can loop around when falling down, but not make it too obvious about what happens.

Its all good and it has a vanilla feel due to the GFX and the custom poses whcih look really fluid. Nice work!!!
Wow! Really good job with the contest entry, flare. But you're gonna have to to a lot better than that to compete with people such as LunarDrake, Lynnes, and Jacob (if they are entering). May I suggest having many different environments, like an underground ice cave with the Presses as icicles. I'm sure you'll come up with something that can beat all the others.

This is just a short section in the first part, to get the Ice flower so you can continue. A bigger version using the same asthetics will be used in Part 3. (more frozen too)

Not shown: Blue shelless koopas get stunned when hit with a snowball, they walk in your direction when un-stunned. This is the key to get back to the surface with your ice flower...

Ahh, I see you've made wonderful progress on this. Why haven't I noticed this before!? Anyway, on to criticism.

The music selection is very nice, especially in the cave. Since you're getting a wierd "Ice Flower", that music puts in a good mood. However, in the cave, I do suggest that you raise that platform on 2:33 1 tile, so that you won't have trouble getting back up... or maybe you were showing that you can't get back up that way? It might be #2.

I can see you like to use Vanilla graphics. I myself can't stand them, but seeing how you presented them, oooh man, very nice touch. I can not wait to see more from this project, and I wish you the best of luck.#w{=D}
