Spud Alpha's Unreleased Hack Collection Release

Standard

We all have those unfinished hacks. You know, the ones we make 1 or 2 levels for, out of boredom, or maybe because we were half asleep and randomly thought a new idea was a good one. Maybe we were just testing out an idea that might otherwise corrupt our main hack(s). These hacks sit in our folders, on our hard drives, there names mocking us every time we see them; "YOU'LL NEVER FINISH ME. HAHAHA.".

I honestly can't stand them. I'm peculiar, but I find a fresh, clean folder to hack in is the best, where I can focus, without being stressed by starting too many things.

However, I've never been one to enjoy wasting my hard work. I hate the idea of deleting a hack I never plan on finishing, those precious man-hours thrown away, without a trace. That's what this is for.

I am releasing not 1, not 2, but 8 of my unreleased hacks I've made over the long period of time I've hacked, in one convenient hack pack. This isn't quite all the hacks I've made, but it's a good amount, and most of the other stuff is junk anyways.

So, here's the download link:
DOWNLOAD SPUD ALPHA'S UNRELEASED HACK COLLECTION
Be sure to read the readmes, they have important info/background crap on each hack.

Now, here's some screenies and videos of each hack to let you see what you're downloading:

Ambiance: a very old ambient hack.

(no sound in the last video because I turned it off to talk on the phone <_<)

Vanillaooor: simple old vanilla hack of mine.

So that's all 8 hacks. I hope you enjoy them. By the way, this hack isn't really to achieve feedback, since I'm done with all of these, but rather for publicity's sake, since I won't release these on the site(since a few are like 1 level and many are just unfit for release in the hack section). However, feel free to give me your two cents on my hacks.

Thank you for viewing my thread. I've inserted some code in my thread that tracks down any IP adress of someone who doesn't click the download link, so download the hack pack or I'll hunt you down.

Have a nice day :3

roflmao

These look pretty great for random unfinished crap, I'll definitely get around to playing them sometime! :3
Good fucking bye.
I clicked the link but didn't actually download it. Am I safe from your robo-assassins?
Very interesting for lots of unfinished hacks. I am going to play this.
Thanks for compliments :>

Actually, they aren't robot assassins; the computer alerts me and I send platypuses trained in the art of judo, fully equipped with sniper rifles that shoot tiny goats instructed to gnaw into your body and create a community with a unique culture and a set of Pagan-esque gods. Eventually, they will use up the natural resources around them that are your kidneys and spleen and begin warring, killing you in the process.

But no, if you clicked the link you should be fine.

I had the same idea the other day to release all my hacks I never finished. Problem is, most of them don't exceed past a single level. I remember seeing screenshots/videos of all of these projects and wondering what happened to them. I guess I know now.

I remember asking you about releasing them when you left SMWC, and you saying you'd release them in a sort of pack(which is what kinda gave me the idea to do this).

I knew I wasn't alone in having a tremendous amount of 1-level hack ideas lying around XD Most of these are 1 level, so don't worry.

I played through all 8 of these hacks and it was definetely a visual treat. I love the palette work and the custom graphics you created for the standard SMW objects. All of this resulted in a new subscriber to your YouTube channel. Because as much as I loved the stuff I saw, its too much of a tease as well and I would love to see more from you.

Hey, thanks. It means a lot more than you think. You know, as much as I'd love to finish these, I really think it would cause me more grief than happiness. For some reason, I only enjoy making vanilla hacks. Don't worry, I have a few more hacks I plan to make until I hang up my hat. Hopefully I can satisfy with just as nice looking levels while staying within the boundaries of vanilla. Keep a look out for my name, I can always use more fans XD
