MAN! It sure has been awhile since the last update huh? Well, real life is catching up to me. Whatcha gonna do? Then I've been spending my hacking time practicing my GFX skills and making my A2MT level... etc. (Not to mention playing cave story 6 hours straight until I beat Ballos)

The cave story FG blocks and statue. That BG is actually Lost World.

Dont think that, your hack is shaping up wonderfly, im pretty sure there are alot of people interested in this, myself included, they just may not really feel the need to post, is all.

The first thing that came to mind when I read the title of the thread was Cave Story. It's good to know my instincts haven't failed me yet...

Anyway, it looks great so far, although you really should add some other enemies to the level, like the hopping cockroaches for example. Also, realize that you won't be able to do much with the four or so sprites Sonikku released, so you better have some other plans up your sleeves...

On the topic of Cave Story, if you're having trouble with Ballos I suggest using the Nemesis for the first two phases, and the rocket launcher for the last two... And if you have the Life Pot, use it...

And yes, I realize nobody ever posts here. I think it's because of me...I don't know why, but whenever I post in a thread, nobody ever posts in it after me... Maybe I am just so awesome that the other people aren't needed. #w{=P}

Don't forget, sonikku released a ton of other cave story sprites for C3spring'10. Where I ran into the wall at the end, leads to the hopping bug things sublevel, then the hell sublevel, then either the 3 balrog bosses or frenzied toroko.

Also, I DID beat Ballos, without the lifepot too. #w{=3} Now I'm playing the game again until I get to the end with the snake.

Might wanna remove the HUD stuff at the top of the screen in future versions of the cutscene.

... I would be incredibly disappointed in everybody if I was the only person interested in this. Your work is some of the greatest I've seen in a long time, and does deserve more attention then it's been getting. :/

Looks good so far, but I don't see how Parakarry could possibly be involved in the plot of this game, as I really don't see how a letter could transport Mario and Luigi to a whole new world. Maybe I'm just over-thinking it... And, as GoldenSonic said, you might want to remove the status bar in the cut-scene, as it makes it look poorly done.

And I too would be concerned with everyone if me, GoldenSonic, and a few other people were the only ones interested in this. This hack is very, very well done in comparison to other hacks I've seen recently. I'm sure that a lot of people are interested in this, and they're all just wasting their lives on the Forum Games like I did a looooong time ago. (I still regret every moment I spent on there in my first two months here on the central. *shudders*)

(WOOT plot!)

Basically, It's right around christmas time in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Parakarry is delevering his letters to Peach's castle. Everyone is having a good time at the party when a black wind blows through...

Parakarry makes it to the castle to find that everyone has left, the castle interior is in shambles, and Mario is knocked out! Before he can do anything else, Mario is sucked up into a void, which leads to the beginning of Adventure Land: Legend of the Stars!

Also: any ideas on how to get rid of the status bar during the cutscene?

Don't you dare think for a minute that the amount of people interested in your hack is in the single digits. Your topic has the second highest amount of views in the forum (not counting those that were moved here; it's second to TSRP2R)! I'm jealous! Your hack is very popular, and you are amost universally recognized as a constant output of awesome. Keep it up!

Nice plot, BTW.

EDIT: Oh, and just use the Layer 3 ExGFX Patch to get rid of the GFX. Just remove the ones you don't need.
