Well, my favourite movie of all time is The Blues Brothers. I'm not really sure why, everything about it just seemed awesome. So yeah watch it.

Some other things people should look into are any Monty Python movies, and if you like science-fiction, Serenity.

Yep.
Because we all have the same preferences.
12. The Green Mile (1999)

The story about the lives of guards on death row leading up to the execution of a black man accused of child murder & rape, who has the power of faith healing. I should also mention Frank Darabont directed this. He also directed my favorite movie of all time, The Shawshank Redemption five years earlier.

13. Boyz 'n' The Hood (1991)

John Singleton's portrayal of life in the truer than ever South Central Los Angeles, following the fortunes or otherwise of a group of young blacks. Struggling to escape the violence and drugs, some of them opt for education, pinning their hopes on college, others are caught up in the violence that is endemic to the neighborhood.

This movie has a LOT of quotes that need to be written down in a history book. This is one of them:

"You know, Tre, you may think I'm being hard on you right now, but I'm not. What I'm doing is trying to teach you how to be responsible. Your little friends across the street, they don't have anyone to show them how to do that - they DON'T. You're gonna see how they end up too."
- Furious Styles, Boyz n The Hood

14. Gran Torino (2008)

Walt Kowalski is a widower who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him. Kowalski is a grumpy, tough-minded, unhappy old man, who can't get along with either his kids or his neighbors, a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1972 Gran Torino he keeps in mint condition. When his neighbor Thao, a young Hmong teenager under pressure from his gang member cousin, tries to steal his Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to reform the youth. Drawn against his will into the life of Thao's family, Kowalski is soon taking steps to protect them from the gangs that infest their neighborhood.

15. First Blood (1982)

John Rambo, a former Green Beret and Medal of Honor recipient, is plagued by the awful changes that are common in Vietnam veterans like himself. A drifter on his way to get some food, Rambo is arrested by Will Teasle, a small town sheriff who is used to getting things his way. Once incarcerated, Rambo soon finds himself reliving the awful memories of his fighting days in the 'Nam as he is put through the basic tests that are mandatory for all prisoners of the law. Rambo escapes and what follows is an intense manhunt for a man who only "wanted something to eat." As the publicity of Rambo's one man war escalates, Teasle and his posse are confronted by Colonel Trautman, Rambo's former commander and the only one who may be able to stop the terrible fate awaiting everyone involved.

19. The Road (2009)

A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind and water. It is cold enough to crack stones, and, when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the warmer south, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing: just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless cannibalistic bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a rusting shopping cart of scavenged food--and each other.

They promise each other that they would travel together to Paradise Falls and build a house there. Many years later, Ellie dies and Carl, who's lonely, refuses to move from their house despite the offers of the owner of a construction company. When Carl accidentally hits a worker that damaged his mailbox, he is sentenced to move to a retirement home. However, he uses many balloons to float his house in order to travel to Paradise Falls. Adventure ensues.

21. Redemption (2004)

Williams is the 12th person to be executed by California since it reinstated the death penalty in 1977.

OH MY GOD YES!!!

That was one of the greatest movies I've ever-SQUIRREL!
Good fucking bye.
I hate squirrels....

A couple movies that I can think of would be: Caddy Shack, Happy Gilmore, and I suppose Men in Black. Although I'm a little iffy for MiB.

Slap Shot is also supposed to be really good. I saw a bit of it, yet I still haven't seen all of it. I should probably pick that up sometime soon...

I'll edit this later if I think of any other good movies.
