I was laughing so hard when I saw the HELLS YEAH.
Well, I finally decided to get off my lazy ass and show something off. I've been working two days straight, at least 16 hours on alot of what I've shown off here. However; what I'm showing off is only 1/4 of what I have done on the level. Enjoy, and laugh if you find this hack humorous.

This is a preview of all the work I got done on the Chocolate level we are making. So far, all the work done on the level is only by me, but hopefully MGH will jump in soon. I've been working my A-double S on the graphics and everything.

This level is called "The Furnace Mishap" and it is a spin-off of our main project "The Crater". You follow (and play as) Hunter and SCORPION as they head for their weapon, the Furnace, and check up on it. However, this doesn't turn into some regular check up.

What's shown is the beginning cutscene and some gameplay showing off SCORPION's finished graphics. His fireflower and swimming aren't shown off however. Please comment and tell me what you think!

Also, screw LM for moving the message box routine to an unknown location, screw xkas for automatically converting long addresses to words without telling me, and screw most emulators for making me delete the SRM file whenever I wanted to start again.

Argh. I think I'm done with most of the ASM at this point though, so it's about time to start work on the level design.

The mountain pallete is funky, you should probably fix that. Otherwise the ASM is cool, though it seem like you made more work for yourself using all these complex sounding message pointers and stuff I don't know about when you can just do bit checking and swapping message numbers like I do. Why am I commenting on something I don't know about as it's probably way more efficient. Disregard that.

Pretty nice idea that you have a translator to, uh, translate what people are saying. (I am sure there was a better way to word that (AND NO I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE UH) >.>)

I have a question, which emulator will the judges be using? The level I'm working on has an HDMA glitch that occurs because zsnes is a piece of crap, but works beautifully in bsnes/snes9x, so I know it's not a problem with my code being incompatible with the snes. I would just hate for the fact that the judge uses an emulator that doesn't emulate the SNES correctly to reflect badly on this level.
I remember there was a game w/SMW2 graphics that could be used as a base hack, if anyone knows what I'm talking about. I am not really professional w/making EXGFX. Does anyone know where to find it?
Well, my level for SMWC Production was not used so I am not sure what to do now unless it is all right w/ S.N.N. to make an IPS patch w/the unreleased level in it. I don't know. I just wanted to show people the level. It was a puzzle level, but it was supposed to be for Bowser's Castle.
I assume it has to be level 105 on the map.

Edit: I mean I didn't want him to think I was like trying to steal the EXGFX or the music b/c I did not make them, but the level was made by me.

Also, can we use more than one room for our level or is there a limit on how many rooms we can use in the ROM?

Also, I was thinking I might make a level w/a friend, but I wondering b/c they're not registered here on SMWCentral. Is that ok or do they have to be registered also?

Oh, and what will they judge it on? Like difficulty level and if there are glitches and things? I tried not to make it too hard, but like I said those are just ideas. Let me know if anyone has any more ideas or suggestions.

I'd like to know as well. Not that anything is going wrong, just need it for reference in case something does go wrong.

I'd like to know as well. Not that anything is going wrong, just need it for reference in case something does go wrong.


I was wondering that too. Will they like try the game on ZSNES and SNES9x? b/c those are the two emulators I have. I noticed when I try to open the game in SNES9x, I get something like the name of the file and then .oops after it. Then, it gets stuck in its own ASM, if you know what I mean, but when I play it in ZSNES, the changes to my level appear fine.

I think if you leave a text file along with your IPS patch, explaining what emulator to use should be fine.

Sadly enough I have no time to work out my level.
But if somebody needs an idea for his/her level. Here's my idea:

I wanted to make a pipe which makes you small. Like you see very small things when you're big. Example: normal springboard and little houses.
You go into the pipe and get to "another" level, but it's basically the same as the other one but than everything is big. So instead of a 16x16 springboard, you'll see a 32x32 or 64x64 springboard. And the little houses are normal size.
It could be used for a lot of stuff. From puzzles to just a regular mini-town.

So yeah. I just wanted to say it so perhaps somebody could take this idea from me #w{=P} and make the level.

Rofl, i was planning on not entering. but during school (Last hour class), I had to do a research report on Scott F. Fitzgerald (i don't know), and i spent the whole hour staring at a computer desktop.

Then this idea hit me... as obvious as it sounds, it involves the computer desktop. but also windows for ground/cloud tiles, scroll bar for vines, Icons as doors. Viruses as enemies...

I "might" want to try it, although it would be funny/stupid. But i feel so dam lazy that i might not get around to doing it...even though i have nothing to do in the first place.
