Jeez give the guy a break.
He's obviously trying.
And at least the OW looks like it's not a pile of garbage like most newbie OWs.
I think this has potential.. You obvioously know how to use ExGFX (which alot of people can't figure out).
With a little better Pallette/GFX selecting, and a slightly more refined OW, you could produce a good hack.
My advice:
Make new GFx for the enemy.
Get classic SMB1/2/3 GFX
Fix your OW paths (they make the island look very sqaure near the top and rigth side)
Don't do all Remake levels. We don't wanna play SMB1 all over again.
Try to do those, and you might wind up with a decent hack :3

This isn't going to end up anywhere good... > Palette and graphics choices are ugly > and most of the levels look like remakes of classic Mario stages. Then what GFX looks better?! give ME a good simple GFX then, if you dont like MY GFX! | Nothing to put here at the time being. |
Thanks to Tom Servo for the awesome new layout! |
Sorry, but no. OW is bad, (one of the paths is messed up, plus it's bland) and MY GFX! needs a lot more detail and shading. Seriously, put some more work into this, and use a bit of common sense. |
You Stole Megaman897's OW, I should kill you for that. You also took my basic GFX style of pipes and stuff. Change that OW.
I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...

no i did not i just got a idea from it... and if you kill me i will kill you! wait... how do i do that? | Nothing to put here at the time being. |

You copied everything from that submap and just edited to remove one level, that's an idea? Change it.

fine just wait 5 minutes or less | Nothing to put here at the time being. |

I just love the cliffs cut off by the yellow paths, and how the edges are too dark, and how sparse decoration it has, and the lack of cliff, "lines." Onyx, I understand what you mean, but this feels like SMW hack shovelware. Being halfway done in a few weeks shows that he's rushing this out the door with little attention to detail. If he's going at this rate, he can obviously slow down to improve. |
here's what you ask new enemy GFX! (im working on the goombas) | Nothing to put here at the time being. |

Level remakes = BAD.
If we wanted to play those levels again, we'd go play the original. We play hacks for new levels, not imperfect remakes of old ones. >_<

No. People are giving fine criticism on how to improve this without being overly rude. We're not all going to lie and tell him it's good when it obviously isn't. This is a SMW Hacking forum, not Sesame Street.
It's been stated that the overworld is too square, paths are cut off, level remakes = do not want - and now I'm going to add that my own tidbit. Those Koopas aren't really custom, they are SMB1's with ever-so-slight modifications, and they don't really look too good in my opinion. If you are going for custom GFX, you should either completely draw a new one, or take one (say, those SMB1 Koopas) as a base, and then tweak it so it at least SEEMS different.
Yeah. That's your feedback from everyone. If you use it right, you'll be fine.
We've become too accustomed to awesome and completely original ideas. Certain ideas will probably seem minuscule. Whereas I believe this hack will not suffice, I do have some suggestions for 554.
Don't announce your original ideas. If you're new to hacking, just run through a hack or two and better yourself in the areas you need it. I personally went through three hacks (not complete) before I ever even announced one.
