SMWC Idol, 2!: It's over already?!

Link Thread Closed

MusicRulesResults

I handle all files before they get sent to judges to ensure anonymity. PM them to me and I'll exclude the text from the public archive. If you haven't separated the text and the SPC, I'll rehost the text somewhere really safe and remove it after the judges have scored it. If you're worried someone could try to steal your song, don't use the filebin to host your entry, but a free file hosting/sharing site like mediafire or webs instead.

Just look above you...
If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!
Oh, okay. Thank you for telling me.
I do usually use the file bin but I'll only give the link to the judges.
I wanted to send it privately because I wanted to enter it here before deciding on a release.
I put the SPC and Text in the same Zip file anyway to make it easier.
What's the judges' status for Round 6? Also, the thread title should probably be updated.

I would if I could
So far, I only got results from Ladida. I'll set up a R6 Judge page and an R7 entries page when I get home since I'm leaving in a few minutes.

Well, today's the 28th. Is it okay to start sending entries?
they can be sent as long as its before the deadline, like when round 1 was in progress, you coulda submitted 8 even.
Oooh...I already submitted my entry for Round 7, but I can't submit my round 8 entry yet...I'm still having a really annoying problem with the percussion. Is there anyone who would be willing to help me who has experience using percussion samples in Carol's MORE.bin?

The last set of scores for Round Six are in! I'm pretty sure Tornado won, and I congratulate him!

That was a difficult round...I hope Round Seven goes well.

...And the competition ends in a week?
Wow, that Round 8 deadline came much faster than I'd anticipated. At least I got it in, though. Now I can almost relax...

. . .And I can finally start writing the music I want to write.

I'm glad you decided to join in as many rounds as you did. You did not seem to want to do so near the start of this, so I am glad you pulled through.

We all pulled through. This was a lot of fun, and it was the first serious competition I've entered here.

Yeah...and I can drive myself crazy with non-specific ports (or possibly compositions, but I probably won't be composing much until I can start my hack).

I made it, but there were some side effects...*twitch* *twitch*...meh. I'm still disappointed about missing Round 2 (although I don't know what I then would have entered in Round 5). I wanted to enter every round, but I missed the deadline for one and collapsed in another. Six out of eight isn't bad, but it's NOT ENOUGH! *insert appropriate vocal sound effect*

If that's your first competition here, I may have a new entry for the list of people to be jealous of. I swear before this, I barely even knew who you were. So...you write music and books/stories?

But, yeah, it was interesting. If nothing else, I learned how to use all three kinds of samples during the course of the contest (Sample Tool in Round 3, AddmusicM in Round 6, Carol's MORE.bin in Round 8). I also got to enter a contest that wasn't a level design one, the only one so far that wasn't.

i congratulate you both, my music skills in this game are pretty average, and i liked that you both entered each round possible to you.
i enjoyed trying to get what i could in and i disapointed myself with even submitting to round 5 when i only had little time to do it.
Now, about the Idol itself. . .is everything all right with it? I don't mind waiting for awhile for my scores, but there hasn't been an update, and I'm a little concerned things are. . .stuck.

But who am I to accuse anyone of procrastination? Until recently in my life, I was the Lord of putting things off until the last minute.
I'm partially to blame, since Atma was doing some SMWCP chores for me. They're all done now though, so he can probably rally the other judges and finish up this.

*shot*

Speaking of SMWCP, though, now that SMWC Idol is over, I'm tempted to port Pete's Peak for level 11E...but we'll leave that discussion to the other thread.

I have to say, though, I also was wondering what was taking so long. The deadline for Round 8 is almost here, yet the scores for Round 6 haven't even been put up.

Because I am incompetent without Counterfeit...

seriously.
She was so wonderful in creating that minisite for us. . .I would have just made multiple threads, but she went all-out for us. Miss Counterfeit deserves a medal.
SPOILER: I was procrastinating more than anyone else. I even sent round 7 out late, but the good part about that is my laziness allowed someone who entered just after the deadline to get theirs in. :P

Good news is, I got everything back up to speed this morning. Winner of round 6 is Tornado, meaning we have four people tied for second with one win each.

Camerin Neede leads the score ranking with an untouchable 252.4, while imamelia is in second and omegazeroINFI is in third. It's incredibly close, though.

Round 8 ends this Saturday. Only got two entries.

Thanks for the update, Counterfeit. Don't ever stop pushing Atma to do things...you heard him, he's incontinent without you. Looks like Round 8 is over, and there are only three entrants, unless you need to update it again...huh. I wouldn't have thought there would be that few people entering this round. Have any other judges sent their scores in for Round 7?

Camerin Neede: Indeed. That was very nice of her. When this is all over, it might be a good idea to archive the site and save its HTML code (for, e.g., SMWC Idol 3 if there is one). *applauds Counterfeit*
