I think it sort of looks better that way. Sure it's cut off, but I think it looks better than small yellow rectangles flying by. The dirt around it gives it more of a 'I can't see through this sand' kind of feeling. If more people want it changed though I guess I can fiddle around with it and see what I get.

That some parts need decorations,I saw that in the images,not the hack,I have to play the hack to give a best opinion...








Great hack, similar to "Rise to the challenge". I like the palletes, but i think the plot is a little boring, you could add more action to it. Also i really like the level design, especially in castles (although i don't like that there aren't bosses)

I think that a big boo fight in each castle with different arenas and different gimnicks will be great. But is just an opinion only.

Also you have to polish some mistakes like in the underwater level at the star of world 3 where are rip van fishes bad located (inside slopes).

Pretty sure it's intentionally boring.

I'm only on the first castle, but i'm really liking it so far. Keep it up! I got past the music issue by kicking in some of my own tunes.

Anyway, could I get a list of castles that have secrets?

When I first started this hack I was actually inspired by Rise to the Challenge. I guess that shows up. The plot is intentionally boring, the focus isn't the plot, rather than the level design. Who knows, maybe when this is done I could start a totally chocolate, plot-heavy sequel.

The Big Boo fight in each castle doesn't sound like a bad idea actually. I might do that.

The Rip van Fish getting inside the slopes is a problem with the slopes themselves. I guess I could fix it up.

None of the castles have secrets, as marioVSshadow has stated.

This was Very good, the palettes looks nice and the moon's palettes looks awesome, elevation and perspective looks perfect, it's well detailed, and i can't see no cutoff, i just don't liked the sky palette, i prefer a dark blue.

Love the hack, great gameplay; at the risk of exposing myself as an insufferable nerd, however, I ought to point out that "Y-Flip Fortress" flips top to bottom, so that would be rotating the level around the X-Axis on a Cartesian graph (which divides the top and bottom), and not the Y-Axis, which separates the left from the right.

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE.

I like that submap! Decent Palette...looks great. And I'm enjoying myself. It's quite a fun challenging hack that doesn't try to be the next thing ever, but just be a enjoyable hack.
Doreagarde: Yeah, I agree. Yes, Y means "up and down", but the level in fact does flip over the X-axis. Also I already found the "This is Not a Desert" problem :>

Thanks for pointing out the error, I'll probably get a fix put up when I get back from school. Hopefully I won't have to put up any further fixes, I want to get started on making some new levels soon.

About the orange sky in the submap, it's supposed to look like a surreal, sort of stange place. Strange in a strange way, not strange in a creepy, evil way.

Very nice submap.
In fact, this is the second submap in two days that I have literally nothing to complain about. No cutoff or anything.
The purple ground and the green cliffs work great together, and everything else such as decorations, ups and downs, and curves, all look good.

Nice.

Even if the level designs are going to be vanilla I really think that you should insert some custom music just to give it it's own twist. I have two suggestions:

World 1 (Red overworld)
World 2 (Desert)

Oddly enough I haven't ended up recommending any of my music but if I were too, I'd recommend this for your star theme.
