General Mario Games Thread

I think it was awesome to see an almost exact replica of bob-omb battlefield in Galaxy 2. I heard there's other levels from different mario games too?
I've realized this was outdated.
Finally! Got all 120 regular stars. Those Fluzzard races actually weren't bad at all, beat them both on my first try. As for the Boss Blitz Speed Run, that was a bit challenging, but I managed to beat it in just a few tries.

Green Star time. I picked up 7 so far. I went and did a few in World S just to get them out of the way. I gave up on the second Green Star for Flip-Out Galaxy...that's in a really tricky place. Plus, the Cosmic Clones kept killing me on that final wall jump, so I just put that one aside for now. Perhaps I'll try again with Luigi.
Quizler, if I remember correctly, you need to deposit 9999 star bits to collect the final star. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong...I remember hearing that from somewhere.

Yes. One level was taken from each previous 3-D Mario game (not counting Mario Kart of course).
Huh?

Where ares these near pefect replicas?

Only one I know is the throwback galaxly cause its supposed to be.
co-op is pretty annoying in NSMB. and I also suck at it
I found fluzzard easy. And ray surfing in the previous game didn't take too much skill.

Today, when my internet was down, I played SMG2. I found the Boomsday Machine to be easy. I never died on that battle. I'm at Throwback Galaxy. 1UPdudes, there's Twisting Trials Galaxy, which was an obsactle course from Super Mario Sunshine.

Here's how I did it.

...as well as Stone Cyclone, which was taken directly from the original Super Mario Galaxy. Sure, they're not perfect replicas, but having them be exactly the same (especially with Stone Cyclone) would look a little lazy. And of course they have to accommodate all the new mechanics.

And yeah, A Stroll Down Rolling Lane gives you thousands of Star Bits. It's Sling Pod Galaxy all over again.
Arg, I need to reserve some time for playing SMG2, I haven't played it in a while because I've been busy. D:

From all the comments I can't tell if I'm really excited or scared to keep going. Must be a combination of both.
Damn guys, I ragequitted at the last star, I suck so much at that part with those circle shooting things. And I can't get rid of the cloud Mario physics! D::::::
WHY has Nintendo delayed the AUS release of SMG2 until July? Is it this guy?
Let's milk Sunny Milk. Then she'll have enough money to fund Sunny Milk Real Estate.
Everypony's digging with a shovel
I did the last boss last night and did a few stars with Luigi. :D

Im liking how this game is more challenging than the first. The purple coins on the tree slide is a hard on for me as I keep getting 90-95 coins.....¬¬

But anyway I found the last boss difficult so some extent. :P

...Cool. The pirates will be scared the hell out of the! Hopefully...
Our world will stop advancing once humans manage to create sufficient magnificence for a whole lifetime. Until then, I just create.
Awesome video game music on my youtube channel
I'm up to 157 stars now. The Green Stars are pretty fun to get. I've been doing them very sporadically, jumping to different galaxies collecting random Green Stars, although I have 100% completed some galaxies (e.g. Rolling Coaster, wanted to be done with that one forever). I see most Green Stars require some form of tricky jumping: long jumps, back flips, and mid-air spinning, or some combination of those.

Looks like I'm going for 100%. I look forward to unlocking Grandmaster Galaxy. Hope it's worth the trouble.
Well, guess what? There's CHEAT CODES for SMG2 now. There's moonjump, invisible Mario, Inf. Health, Inf. lives etc. You'll need the LATEST version of Gecko OS to cheat on SMG2...
I wonder if they're going to make an Super Mario Galaxy 3! Then 4! Then 5! Then 6! Super Mario Galaxy 6....it's probably gonna be out by 2054.
Real gamers don't need cheat codes.

Anyway, I finally had a chance to play tonight, and I finally was able to get the last three stars and Bowser again. I really hated the Comet stars in Flip-Out Galaxy (probably around 10 deaths or more) and Stone Cyclone Galaxy (more like 15+ deaths), but I took Boss Blitz Galaxy's Comet star fairly easily on my second try. I then let Luigi have the honor of taking out Bowser again.

I went ahead and found a Green Star as well, so I'm at 121 stars now.

I'm probably retired tbh

No. Just no. It is not going to happen.
