Ooops!

Okay, I am making a hack that had a scroll. I deleted the scroll and tried it but the screen doesn't pan over! What do I have to do to fix this?

Um, what? What you mean by pan? spawn?
Seems that you're using a level like 9 and didn't changed the level properties, click on the Mario Head and search the second box ("Layer 1 (FG) Vertical scrolling") and, if there says "no vertical or horizontal scroll" then change it to something else. If that's not your problem then I don't know what will be.

Anyways his problem is just as you said he took out the auto scroll sprite and didn't change the layer 1 scrolling option.
i think he is refering to auto scroll as in, he wants an auto scroll on a level but then deleted to add a new one in but then forgot to add it in?

or maybe he didnt set the vertical scrolling at will (mario's face button)

because people use pan in other instances where they dont leterally mean "pan" :)

sorry if this wasnt of help
