School Punishments

Yeah I was jsut wondering about the different punsihments different schools have so I thought why not ask people on here seeing how there is a variety of users from different places.

In my school we have essays, detentions, reports, exclusions etc.
I got 500 words for tommroow cause I talked...yeah ¬¬
Yeah, same. We either have to write extra essays or we get a detention which varies in time.

If you're too late, it's like this in our school:

1st time : none
2nd time : none
3rd time : 30 mins
4th time : 1 hour
5th time : 2 hours
6th time : 3 hours
7th time : 4 hours
8th time : 5 hours
9th time : a thing called 'blokrooster'. Basically you have to go to school from 8.00 until 16.30 every day of the week, for 1 week.
...and after that, I don't know. They never told me.

On my old school I managed to get it to 5 sometime, but they had even more severe punishments there. 5 times too late on that school was like 7 times too late on this one.
I think it's unfair you get hours of detention for being 1 minute too late for class, but eh.
--------> Don't follow "Find Roy's Dignity", my hack. Because it's pretty outdated. <--------
My school's belief that everyone deserves a "fair go" lets me pretty much raise Hell and get nothing more than warnings. Basically what they do is a merit and demerit system where if you get three demerits, it's an after-school detention. However, merits cancel out demerits. So all you need to do to avoid punishment is be manipulative.

I've had a few close calls though. Once again, manipulation saved me. I also usually make a few enemies during these particular ones.
We have nothing.

Goddamn how I hate all the disruptive shitheads (who make about 90% of our class) and the teachers who are all like "nah, let's not punish them for yelling loudly during every goddamn class, let's just pat them on the head instead :3333333333".

Man Im glad Im not there Roy, Ima always late and Im getting put on report soon so meh. report kinda sucks cause I actully done nothing "bad".
we get crosses when we disrupt a class, don't do our homework, don't learn our lessons or forget our books / other stuff, and at 4 crosses we get between 2 to 4 hours detention on Wednesday afternoon. it would be effective if most teachers weren't soft and always say " this is your last chance " multiple times, and even then, most of the disruptive kids don't give a shit if they get detention anyway, so the result is chaos in most lessons.

Mind if I feel jealous?

1st time : none
2nd time : 30 mins before school
3rd time : 90 mins, 3x30 before school. Parents contacted.
4th time : 150 mins, 5x30 before school
5th time : 'blokrooster'
6th time : 2x'blokrooster'. Parents contacted. School counselor contacted.
7th time : Somewhere here they give up. 'blokrooster', recontacted counselor.
8th time: serious problems.

'Blokrooster' in my school is a little different, as regular days are from 8.15 until 16.35. Blokrooster therefore is 7.45 until 17.30 for a week.
The only flaw in the system is that you can easily bail out of the 2nd, 4th and occasionally 3rd time. Administration is as lazy as the students, and often forgets to phone the parents.
Also the counting resets twice every year. I managed to get 3rd time (who wouldn't) but bailed. Never heard anything of it afterwards.

Edit: I forgot to mention we have quite a few of kind teachers, who think these punishments are seriously too harsh and decide not to inform the school of students who show up late as countermeasures. That helps.
Also; for those who do not speak Dutch: 'Blokrooster' can be loosely translated to 'Square Schedule'.
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Oooh look at my userbar!

Sadistic Designer - testing Pit without tools.

about above:
1st+2nd time: nothing
3rd time: three times earlier at school, 7:45 to be exact.
4th+5th time: nothing
6th time: three times earlier at school, 7:45 to be exact.
etc, until you hit 10:
10th time: something else happens, which might be one of the following:
- 'Vierkant rooster'(='Blokrooster')
- no invite for any upcoming schoolparty
- any other bad punishment.
and it will always contain these:
- come to the head of the school and talk about it
- parents contacted
then you will get a new 'telaatkomkaart', with new 10 times, but the tenth gets worse every time. someone in my brothers class even managed to get a full-time 'Vierkant rooster'

I might put some sort of signature here once. I guess.
There is one severe punishment in my school, but in rare cases it's handed out. On Saturdays and Sundays you have to go to school and write extra essays and stuff like that. Your not even allowed to celebrate any school event. I'm not sure if there is really anything else...
Finally decided to actully work on a hack. I haven't thought of a name for it yet, and I'm only done 45%.

The only punishments I've seen at my (current) school is if you're caught using a phone in room 7, the teacher actually comes and takes it away for the night.

Hell, my friend that goes to school with me, she told me someone was watching porn on the school computers and the only punishment he got was being banned from the school computers for that day.

Really, my school is really laid back, as long as you get 6 credits a month (Which I got in the first WEEK, so any other credits I accomplish will just be extra), they don't really care what you do.

The thing I don't like about my school is that the punishments are punishments too. If you get 2 detentions or one suspension (even if its half a day ISS) you can't go to Boston or Washington DC.

My school also has a very strict policy of gum chewing. If you get caught you get detention.

We have this weird, unaffective system. First, let me say that it's HARD to be late since you have to make it before our school's shitty school news show is over, which always goes on for like 10 minutes. But if you ARE late, here's what happens:
1st time: Nothing
2nd time: Detention
3rd time: Detention
Detention goes on and on.
If you're bad, like if you get into fights or something, I'll show you the list.
1st time: Detention
2nd time: ISS (In-school suspension)
3rd time: ISS (In-school suspension)
4th time: OSS (Out-of- school suspension)
5th time: Expulsion
ISS is a good idea, because kids have to sit in a room until 4 PM but they make it better than that because you get to catch up on work. What the fuck? They should just sit there and think about what they've done and how many people it affected. They shouldn't get to do their work! Our school is stupid.

Really? that stuff happens here too, who really exagerate with his behavior and doesn't get punished but if you do something of simple the staff (i mean teachers) get already shocked and have to ban you for a determinated amount of time.

Taking this from my art thread:

SCHOOL IS JUST A
POINTLESS SYSTEM TO STEAL
OUR LIFES AND MONEY!!!

Teachers cannot be good educators if they demand to. I hate school and when i will get over those stressful 5 years of wasting time on a prison (1 left for me, yay) i will even kiss an hedgehog! Who are they, to detent you? They are not your parents and they don't have the right to keep you. When i will be bigger, you even don't know how much i will bitch the school and its crappy system!

Interesting to learn all the different things.

Also there is a strict policy on uniform, we have to wear a blazer, shirt and tie. We look to smart for a friggin school and I ahte the "hight status" my school trys to acheive saying others clothes are scuffy when the school is a humanties school, good job there (sarcasm).

But anyway the uniform thing actully was funny as I meeting my head teacher who was giving out rewards. I was late and "un-dressed" so I tucked my shirt in after my head of year told me I was letting him downa dn my head teacher said it was the quickest he ever seen someone tuck his shirt in....
a kid got suspended for watching 2 kids fight. need i say more?

ask me if i give a f*ck...
Our school is laid back, which results in quite a lot of discipline problems.

I fully understand what you mean in this statement. My high school has the same policies in terms of uniforms (but without the blazers or ties, we have golf shirts and khaki pants), and for that matter dress code. Shirts tucked in, clothing fitting, girl's kilts and skirts being of a certain length, the list goes on and on. Depending on the teacher they will/won't care about the uniforms. Guys don't really have much to worry about, however the girls have been getting killed (not literally) over the length of their kilt, as it has to a certain length above the knee. Should they not listen they have to serve a lunchtime detention (40 minutes) as they got rid of after-school detentions due to people having to work.

In my school the teachers really don`t do anything, seriously, you could walk easily into the school at 9:30 am (Which is the thing that certain people do)

However, when they feel to punish (read:almost never), they just send you back to home
Hello There
Our school has no system. If a teacher feels like being a dick they can give you a straight up after school detention which goes for 50 minutes or a catch-up class which is given for lack of work done that's one hour long. Some teachers are just nice and keep you back for a few minutes. Our teachers aren't idiots, though. We're allowed to argue and get a less harsh punishment if the coordinators of our year level think the teacher is at fault.

How did you learn to write and speak your language more fluently? Where may you have learnt some skills to make your art? Where did you meet your friends that aren't members of your family and develop your social skills? How would you know about ANYTHING without school? Saying school is useless shows how blind you are. Without school we would know virtually nothing but what we are told by people we know, which in itself is school, but in smaller portions hence you know less. If I had the choice to go to school or not, I'd go.
You realise that without school you could potentially have no idea how to agree to that, right?
