^Which one? Lighting may be an issue in some of the videos, that's why I couldn't video Power Cut Peril.

Oh, and I forgot something... I've been trying to add some ExGFX recently to the levels to make them more interesting. Looks a fair bit less vanilla now.

I'm also going to use HDMA or whatever.

P.S. It's not quite Kaizo, it's more the level of that hack black/daigaidai or whoever made where the levels use Kaizo type tricks but are all filled with fancy gimmicks and ASM rather than being even remotely vanilla like.

But I'll still accept testers. I can easily miss out a lot of stuff myself.

Okay, levels moved to new ROM, NSPC patch now in use for music, some new foreground (and soon background GFX for levels and boss arenas).

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/qMYH-7jKahE&hl=en_GB&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qMYH-7jKahE&hl=en_GB&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Yes, I was bored. Besides, the overuse of Boss Bossonova was getting to me, so I tried some other Donkey Kong Country music, heh.

The music before fighting a boss in the last area of this level.

A plant themed fortress with Stickerbrush Symphony music and New Super Mario Bros tower graphics.

Part of the final level (guess which part):

Part of spiked koopa boss room, with proper style foreground:

Part of a level, obviously underwater:

Nice screens, but shouldn't the ground in the first screenshot have a checkered pattern?
Bosses are good, but level design... (you need to improve it a lot) Also i think that you have to make a better the use of graphics.

The firebar without any block in the center doesn't see very good.
Where's the firebar you're talking about? I can definitely fix that if someone points out the level in question.

And keep in mind I'm not the only/main level designer. I can use ExGFX, sprites and music, but I personally prefer making the boss battles to levels.

And yes, maybe the ground should have a checkered pattern.

The first firebar in the last video, and the thwomps in that level are also bad placed (specially for the first vertical thwomp). Also the part that you have to avoid the reflecting fireball is not fun i suggest you or another to remove it. Also the turn block with a piece of rope is cutoff in the boss battle.

Otherwise this hack has potential. It seems to be similar to ASMT or Vip series for the level design style.
i think the guy who drew those saw blades is kinda awesome not naming any names =P

Fair enough. I get what you mean the rope now, although I still can't find a video on this same page even with a firebar in. Meh, I'll go check the firebars in the rest of the levels and fix it that way.

I'm not sure what you mean with the Thwomp being badly placed though. And yes, it will be similar to ASMT and the VIP series in design style, albeit with more custom bosses and less Tanasinn level ASM.

And why do I have the feeling the guy talking about the sawblades was the original graphics designer of them?

You could always fake the huge custom bosses by making it stay invisible and in the middle of the screen and use a custom background that represents the boss you want. The only problem is not being able to make it move around and can only be 1 screen long.
I could, and it's a good idea, but the issue there is now one of a lack of sprite room, unless I do some severe reorganising. Maybe using that level ASM type sprite released at E3 to replace about ten normal sprites will help a bit.

also custom bgs usually dont contain enough room
(unless it lm 1.71 lol)

imo just keep it as it is if you remove a sprite that is in use by accident then you are screwed :/

Good point. But I'll still change the sprites to that one someone released at C3 that acts as a level ender, teleport, vertical auto scroll, etc based on position in level.
