You may not have noticed, but us hack moderators are a crabby old bunch. Here are a few things you can do for your hack that will make us that much happier.
1.) Music Incompatibility
Using music with too much echo ($F1 command going over $04 for the XX byte, to be exact) will break sounds horribly on every emulator made after 2007 (that is, everything except ZSNES and SNESGT). Try to avoid excessive echo, or at least run your music through SNES9X to see if it breaks.
2.) Get Beta Testers
A lot of hacks get removed for very obvious issues. This thread has people willing to run through your hack and point these out to you. Listen to them! Fixing their problems will make your hack that much more likely to be accepted!
3.) Read the Hack Submission Guidelines and the Rules!
A lot of hacks get canned because they can't keep up with the quality of hacks here. Please, please, PLEASE read the rules and the guidelines, and play some featured hacks (including, yes, Chaos CompleXX) to get some ideas about what's good and what isn't.
4.) Fix Your Issues
If your hack was removed from the queue due to problems, be sure to remember to fix them all before resubmiting! If they were a problem the first time around, nothing will change that the second time around. If you're having problems fixing them, be sure to ask in the forums! We're a friendly bunch and don't bite!
5.) DON'T SUBMIT ROM FILES, SERIOUSLY
No, really, we're really really big on this. Making an IPS patch is so easy and steps on far fewer toes. There is no excuse.
It's shame people don't even bother to look at the other parts of the site before uploading their hack. Also,

Well I fix problems and donut upload roms.
It's only a matter of times before certain people see these rules and start calling the hack mods a bunch of elitist douchebags.
To those people: we're sorry for not accepting your garbled mess to the site. perhaps you should read the removal logs our lovely hack mods make just for you before bitching to your friends about how horribly trolled or w/e you were.
have a super day.
I will try to check the music in Teh Hack 2. Yes, it's joke project, but this doesn't means I won't check it for quality. I don't want to player cannot hear my ear-searing music because guys which ported song used too much echo.
HINT to moderators: here should be rule to not use ear-searing music, because I used Legato Fail in Teh Hack 1 and nobody removed it (they accepted this weak-quailty hack, in class similar to Chaos CompleXX using new technologies like music or sprites). If they don't that rule I will probably use my porting fail of Megaman X - Password Screen.
what if you do fix your problems, and then your hack gets rejected for some completely new reasons? I mean, this annoys me alot. I fix errors pointed out by a mod who removed my hack, and then it gets removed for errors I couldn't have seen coming. I mean, I fixed the other errors and even RE Beta tested myself, only for newer errors to come up.Your layout has been removed.
Some people who submit things are just new to LM and have a gigantic urge to upload anything they made just because they think smw hacking in general is good -_-
You can say whatever you want to them, but this is never going to stop, trust me on this.

you'll never know... you'll never know..
I might put some sort of signature here once. I guess.
I've often wondered: what are the standards like for other hacking websites? Is SMWCentral so different from other SMW sites because it has high product standards? If so, then I'm very proud to say that my little hack(s) met those standards...more or less.
Yeah, some people just don't seem to pay attention and/or overlook very important details.
Hopefully the rate of "lol, look what I made in 5 minutes" goes down as that does nothing but waste the hack moderator's time. Several people, not all, submit their hack and it is their first one but they show signs of not reading anything nor looking to see what's good.
Some of the submissions are obvious trash and have no effort while others at least show signs of reading the rules but they have some issues.
Hopefully the bad hack to good hack ratio changes for the best. Better yet, some more signs that people read anything in announcements.
