whats ur FAV zelda game? My top 5 are
5:Majora's mask
4:wind waker
3:ocarina of time
2:links awakening
1:spirit tracks

those are my favorite :)

None of the DS installments, that's for sure. I didn't like them. Not twilight princess. Not Link 2 (I've never really played it in depth, but the game itself was very unclear... Maybe because it was a NES game).

Not Majora's mask because it had really unclear solutions to some problem (i.e.: The water-horse... How was I supposed to know THIS had something to do with the main plot?!).

So, in the end... We've got...

5: Wind Waker
4: Link's Awakening
3: The legend of Zelda
2: The legend of Zelda A link to the past
1: The legend of zelda Ocarina of time

The three last are definitely the three best. My older brother would probably reverse them (3: Oot 2: Zelda 3 1: Zelda)

Assuming we count the Oracle games as a single installment, definitely them. They are quite simply the greatest Zelda games to date. Wind Waker comes in second for best 3D game and Majora's Mask gets an honourable mention for its creepy feel.
1. Wind Waker ( the best graphics on a zelda game ever imo - just to add ;))
2. Majora's mask
3. Minish Cap

My top 5:
1. NES Legend of Zelda
2. Ocarina of Time
3. Link To The Past
4. Wind Waker
5. Link's Awakening

These were probably the ones I had the most fun playing.
i tried the original zelda, but i found it quite boring, and it's very uncleer what to do. the ds ones where ok, not the best thought. ocarina of time was long, enjoyable, but the graphics are a bit outdated now. i've never played the oracle games, nor zelda 2 or link's awakening ( are those actually the same game or not ? ) minish cap was good, quite easy thought. majora's mask was annoying, with all the going-back-in-time, losing-most-of-the-stuff-you-did buisness. the 4 swords games where kinda weird, they didn't really feel like zelda games. a link to the past was the best one for it's age, but the enemie damage in the dark world is way too high. so all in all, my 2 favorites where the wind waker, witch has great graphics, balanced difficulty and is fun to play, and twilight princess, witch looks realistic, has a good storyiline, is quite long, and has midna :P
and i don't even count the cd-i games as real zelda games, they are only good for remixing or just lagthing at how bad they are.
is there any zelda games that i havn't mentioned ? i think i've revieuwed them all...
ocarina of time was long, enjoyable, but the graphics are a bit outdated now.

Wait, are you seriously choosing Twilight princess over Oot BECAUSE it has better graphics!?

I never liked zelda, but...

I'd have to say spirit tracks.

Majora's mask, then the oracle games, then ocarina of time, then link's awakening, a link to the past, and phantom hourglass. Only ones I've played all the way through so far, but they were all great, just some moreso than others.

no, i just prefered twilight princess a bit anyway. OoT would be my 3rd favorite.
1: link to the past
2: ocarina of time
3: wind walker
4: twilight princess
5: majora's mask

I haven't played any other zelda games yet.
My favourites are Twilight Princess, Ocarina of time and Wind Waker.
My least favourite is definitly Zelda 2.
I liked Spirit Tracks too, but the flute really ruined the final boss. #w{>=(}
Top 5:
5: Legend of Zelda Windwaker- Yes I liked it. It had an interesting idea, and preformed it fairly well. The sailing was the only down point for me.
4: Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past- The only thing that upset me was that I couldn't do a three heart run.
3: Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time- What?! This isn't the top of the list? Yes, it's a good game, but it's not my favorite. It used to be, but not anymore.
2: Oracle of Ages and Seasons- I'm putting these together just because they are linked games. Or at least that's how you get the full experaince. The puzzles kind of irritated me at time, but oh well.
1: Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask- My favorite now. The story is darker then most of the Zelda games. When you really observe the ideas people have online, it becomes the most mysterious of all of them. Plus, the mask gimmick is my favorite gimmick any Zelda game has ever had.
1) Wind Waker
2) Majora's Mask(I love how everyone hated it, then the next day, it was one of the most popular)
3) Oracle of Ages
4) Link to the Past
5) Four Swords Adventures
6) Oracle of Seasons
7) Zelda II
-Parallel Worlds (not an official game, so I won't give it a number)
8) Spririt Tracks
9) Minish Cap
10) Link's Awakening
11) Phantom Hourglass
12) Twilight Princess
13) Legend of Zelda
14) Ocarina of Time(go ahead, sue me, you won't change my mind)

None of the Zelda games are bad, this is just my list. Oracle of Ages and Majora's Mask are close, but I went with MM.

On a side note, OoT is the only one that I don't rate 5 stars.
@above: Okay, you've managed to make a list that is extremely opposed to what I believe... At least Zelda 3 isn't so low in the list >_>

How can Oot be SO low??? Under TP? Under Majora? Under the DS instalments? UNDER FOURSWORDS?! Minish cap?!?!?!?! NOSE! Impossible! I SUE YOU!

My top 5:
5. Ocarina of Time
4. Spirit Tracks
3. Wind Waker
2. Twilight Princess
1. Majora's Mask

Majora's Mask is a masterpiece. Almost EVERY NPC has a personality and backstory. The game isn't about saving the world and a million nameless faces, it's about saving the world and Kafei, Anju, the Mayor, Romani, the Deku Princess, Cremia, the Indigos, the Monkeys, Koume, Kotake, the mailman, Guruguru, and everyone else.

Ocarina of Time is a great game, but I don't think it's aged as well as Majora's Mask, and certainly doesn't stand up to the other three 3D titles. The only reason it's still the most popular is because everyone is nostalgic for it and won't let it go.
Actually, no. I've pretty good reasons to think Oot is much better than Majora, and putting it all on the nostalgy is seriously ridiculous.

1) Majora's Mask (I know this game backwards and forwards. I also like the mystery it's shrouded in)
2) Oracle of Seasons and Ages. It had some hard puzzles and some great action. Oracle of Ages especially stumped me.
3) Twilight Princess. I really need not say more.
4) Zelda II. Everyone complains of this game's difficulty. Really, it's better the second time around, because then, you don't have to worry about leveling up or getting the items and spells. In actuality, it's a really good game.
5) A Link to the Past- pure nostalgic value, and it's just awesome.
6) Wind Waker- it has replay value, though I hated finding the shards. Talk about filler.
7) OoT- it's OoT.
8) Zelda 1- it's good, but kind of redundant after awhile. And confusing.
9) Minish Cap- It's too easy, and it's when the handheld series started to steer away from what Zelda really is. (The light force? Wasn't there a Triforce, or did they just decide to screw that off?)
10) Four Sword Adventures- I suffered a bit playing through this game, but not from difficulty; rather, boredom.
11) Phantom Hourglass- talk about short. (And going through the same dungeon all the time didn't do it for me either)
12) Spirit Tracks- Talk about a horrible abomination! Is this game related to any Zelda game other than the title?!
13) Link's Awakening- don't get mad at me for putting this as last. This is the only official Zelda game that I HAVEN'T played. So I can't really rank it yet.
14) ANY OF THE CD-i ZELDA GAMES

Also, I believe that Ocarina of Time<Majora's Mask.
Majora's Mask has a deeper, more complicated plot that I couldn't really understand when I was 6, but after almost 10 years, I've came to appreciate it more.

So far I haven't heard any of those reasons from you in particular. Granted, there are some that do have legitimate reasons for liking OOT more than any of the other games, but most of the time the "reasons" are just things that the other 3D titles have done much, much, better.

In any case, the wide majority of fans like OOT better than the rest of the games just because of nostalgia.
Why is Oot better than any other 3D game IMO:

Better and more satisfying dungeons. A lot of them, too. There's something like 12 dungeons in Oot. Yeah, 12. I counted them.
The bosses in Oot aren't too easy, and therefore are more enjoyable than in other 3D games.

In majora mask, there are only ~8 dungeons, and in my opinion, some of them are gimmicky. The great bay temple uses too much the zora... And forgets to put in the action. In majora mask, a lot of the side-quests are unclear. It's especially frustrating when the side-quests blend in with the main quest, like the horse-fish side-quest.

The Ocarina Of Time doesn't have the best story, but it has the most epic of them (World being ruined by ganon? Cool!), it also has a much more satisfying final boss... In comparison to Majora. You just fight Majora (okay, he is creepy and he has many forms, but he is WAY too easy).

In fact, I could strike down to these points (3D zelda games):

1: Oot:
+ Good atmosphere
++ Great dungeons
++ Great bosses
+ Epic (and involving) story-line (but simple, though it never annoyed me that much)
Frustrating quest to get the strongest sword, which I in fact never got.

3: Majora:
++ Great atmosphere
+ Good (but gimmicky) dungeons
Average bosses
+ Epic story-line (but it's role is short, though. The moon crashes, the giants save the day... You fight the mask. That's how it can be resumed, plus, the final boss isn't that great)
++ Lots of side-quests
- Unintuitive (More precisely, I never got interested in the side-quests... or didn't feel like I needed to do them or something. My brother DID get the omni mask, at least)

2: Wind Waker
+ Good atmosphere
++ Great story-line
+ Good Bosses
++ Lots of sidequests
+ Good (and... a little gimmicky) dungeons.
- It's getting a little easy, too.

4: Twilight Princess
++ Great atmosphere
+ Great story (Zant isn't constant though)
Average bosses (Easy ones)
Average dungeons (Not gimmicky, at least)
+ Lots of sidequests (but they're not all that interesting)

+ and - aren't relative, so there is place to interpretation. The order in which I place those games are solid. On another hand, one could decide to disagree with my points, thus placing Majora above of Oot.

Though, I can't conceive how one can place Majora WAY above Oot, that would basically mean disagreeing with all of my points and more! I mean, sure, you can believe that the story-line is linear. Someone could believe that. But I can't get how they could say that the bosses and the dungeons suck... Saying the controls suck is actually stupid, so we're not considering that. And also, it's even harder to pretend that Majora has better dungeons than Ocarina (You can say ocarina's dungeons suck, but that comes to putting higher restrictions to Majora's dungeons too!)
