Best 2D platformer: Super Mario Bros. 3 (From the all stars...). Yoshi's Island itself was also excellent. (Good example of games that are innovative while not being easy. A lot of the later games were much too easy... Oh and... Yoshi's Island DS had a crappy Soundtrack)
Best 3D platformer: Definitely 64 (And maybe even 64 DS, seeing as it added a LOT of new features, which, even if not as awesome as the original, didn't really take it down)
Best RPG: Paper Mario TTYD. (Much better story than the original, the combats had more gimmicks, which didn't make the game feel unbalanced anyway. But some stuff were quite useless indeed. In for MUCH more depth than the original and a MUCH more epic final boss)
All those choices are pretty freaking solid here.
Our world will stop advancing once humans manage to create sufficient magnificence for a whole lifetime. Until then, I just create.
