How many times does this thread need to be remade? Oh well I like Castlevania and Mario music and sometimes Zelda.

I dont get why people think video game music is nerdy. Fact is, it's basically the only instrumental music around, so if you like instrumental music, you're bound to be "nerdy". (that is, no words) There are a couple of VG songs with words, but they're usually in japanese or spoken in an illegible way. (FFX was a great example)

Either way, I dont care if its nerdy. It's awesome. I can't think of a good game that had bad music. I really like the old stuff. The FF3 last boss music (Famicom) was awesome. It really didn't sound like last boss music, no matter which remix you were listening to, but it was a great theme NTL.
I bought a cactus. A week later it died. And I got depressed, because I thought, Damn. I am less nurturing than a desert. -Demetri Martin.

Kirby Superstar and the Donkey Kong Country Series have always had awesome soundtracks.

AS IF I KNOW WHAT TO PUT HERE.

Hack Status: Cat Adventure Deluxe

Does anyone have a site with some video game music? I have one with FF music, but not much else really.

Thanks Zondekel! I was worried. I thought it might have been against the rules to ask, but I couldn't find such a rule.

Now.....what was it I wanted to look up?

Tiny Chao garden-Sonic advance 2
It's now my theme song.which makes it win.
I have manny favorites, cant be a clear choice. Also I dont mean to over take this thread but can anyone tell me where this music is from? I named it ending but I forgot the ending from witch game, I can sing it perfectly but I dont know where its from.

I don't have enough space or patience to list all my favorite VG soundtracks, but I must list one.

Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2.

There is not a single song in there I dislike, and "To A New Adventure" (extra dungeon theme) is my favorite song in any video game ever.
Drill Dozer's soundtrack also deserves a special mention. (When people think of 'good video game music,' they usually think of the Super Nintendo... it does, but SNES-style new games do too!)

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketI love video game music a lot! It's WAY better than what the kids listen to at my school (Soulja Boy and other crazy raps) ... I think it's the awesomest thing done since pie.

Well, that's my rant on video game musics. They're seriously underappreciated.

Hyrule Field Daytime-LoZTP
Gerudo Valley-LoZOoT
Mute City-F-Zero
I really enjor these kinds of posts, I'm pretty much of a video game music collectionner, and I'm quite picky. Unlike most guys here...
My tops? THEY'RE ALL SO GREAT... Though, I think people like me may enjoy listening to those songs, as they're diverse (Ok, they're still mostly on Nintendo games though) and for some, unconsidered.

I'm gonna give you 10... In no precise order.

Jet force Gemini, The mines
Dramatic, and stuff. I... Look, I just like it. It's not up-beat, and that's just GREAT.

Chrono Cross, "another world"
I'm not very fond of this game, Maybe the plot only gets interesting after the 8 first hours...? Anyway, This is so great, the perfect soothing music indeed!

Chrono Cross, Arni Village
More chrono cross? That one is the incarnation of HAPPINESS! YAY! ...

Riven soundtrack
The whole Myst and Riven sountracks are very interesting, axed on ambiance mostly, and a lot more elaborate music than most...

Perfect Dark Zero, Riverchase
Not a nintendo game! Though it's the sequel to a classic. I haven't played it, but I suspected pieces of the soundtrack would be great since it's rareware. That's probably the best of this games' music.

Perfect Dark, Datadyne
Hey, it's still rareware.

Original Rayman
Short, but moving track. Rayman has a surprising sountrack for a relatively unknown game.

Yoshi's story, Bowser's castle
Once again, an original soundtrack mixing cute and evil at the same time.

Castlevania: Order of ecclesia
Azure wanderings was already great when I heard it in the game, but that remix is even better! Sweet! One of the best castlevania tracks IMO... Hail from the past is good too.

Now, the last,
Chrono Resurrection, Corridors of time
The whole chrono resurrection project was a failure, but it's soundtrack (which consists of approximately 15 reinstrumented chrono trigger musics) is just amazing. Add the nostalgy now.

EDIT: I see you've picked Chozo ruins from Metroid prime. That one and Phendrana Drifts are the best from Metroid prime, probably from Metroid at all. The most interesting part if that they're going to release a new metroid in 2010, as well as multiple other games. Pikmin 3 was briefly mentionned. Hpefully not too briefly... I wonder if those games will have good soundtracks...
Our world will stop advancing once humans manage to create sufficient magnificence for a whole lifetime. Until then, I just create.
Awesome video game music on my youtube channel
