I don't know what that ! means. I suggest not using those until you find out. Additionally, make sure you are taking out the 0x and leaving the $ on, such as 0x1E8000 to $1E8000.

i have a weird clitch which cuase mario to shrink/die when he walks on wooden crates. walk, not touch the crate! whats the reason?
^ Ultimaximus 6th 666 post. o_O
I inserted the code, but now it says that the graphics are too large for 0x1 and my Pirhana Plants, Goombas and wings are garbled. How do I fix that?
What free space did you use?

i may sound stupid, but:
$7E:0105 4 bytes Misc. Currently loaded layer GFX files (stored in reverse order)

How does this address work? I am trying to change GFX mid-level for a secret cool effect. Can this be used for that?

EDIT: moved to advanced help forum

I might put some sort of signature here once. I guess.

Actually, it is TLP's fault. TLP is just not very good at displaying graphics, and thus doesn't display the top row.

I recommend switching to YY-CHR.

When you use it, you'll need to extract all the files, then change the file named "yy-chr.ENG" to "yy-chr.ENU".

I didn't know the latest version was translated yet. That's good to know I love YY-CHR but my computer kept moaning to me that it was a virus. I got tired of it telling me 3 times every time I turned my computer on so I just deleted the older version that I had. I knew of the newer one but not that it had been translated.
so, i've fairly grasped YY-CHR and know how to insert ExGfx and whatnot for level-design. however, i want to replace mario's sprites with my own and do not know how to do such a thing, nor can i seem to find an article to read up on.

can somebody please run through a brief explanation, and i'll probably figure it out from there. links are appreciated, too. thanks.
I'm trying to find the SMB1 style flagpole... I was told it was in the STARSW pack, so I tracked down and downloaded that. However, I can't read Japanese and the demo hack that was included demonstrating the various things in the pack didn't explain the flagpole.

Can someone either...

A) Tell me which file(s) to use for the flagpole

or

B) Give me another link th where I can get it

and if there are no English instructions for how to get it to work, I would greatly appreciate an explanation as well. Thanks.
I have a hack thread - Link (Now with a demo!)
Also a music thread - Link

The Mario graphics are located mostly in GFX32, with a few tiles in GFX00. Just edit them as you would any other graphics.

Just recently, I put in a patch for my hack. My hack. Now whenever I test my hack, it crashes after the "Nintendo Presents" message.

How so?
Well, when the Nintendo Presents message fades, the screen just fades black. Whenever I try to edit the speed, (I use snes9x) the text is half-size. Help?

Edit: Okay now this is kind of strange. I replaced and re-patched the ROM, and apparently the hack will crash anywhere. Plus, Lunar Magic says it's corrupt. Should I put my patches to blame?
Edit Edit: To the above, I used Smallhacker's knockback patch. So I looked for a replacing patch I could use for that and I get the revised Smallhacker's knockback patch. I patch that in, and Lunar Magic says the ROM is corrupt. I try out the clean but patched ROM in my emulator and all goes well, until I get hit. The ROM then crashes, and looks like animated trash! Yay!

Boometh,

Maybe your Xkas is messed up somehow? Try re-downloading it or getting a different version.

Who knows when I'll have
something to put here.

@Rabees, if he downloaded it from here, I doubt that the download could get corrupted somehow...

@Boometh, did you patch anything else? Maybe its uncompatible with that other thing if you did.

Maybe his Xkas is oudated, or another patch is messing with it like you said, mockingod.

Whenever there's a patching problem, those seem to be the first two questions that come up.

Generic patching problem question: Did you set freespace correctly? I very much doubt xkas is the issue here.

Hey does anyone know how to rip graphics from a SNES rom? If so please tell me.
Open for requests: Extended Unavailability
Reviews and whatnot.

Somehow, it just magically worked.
Kthx guys.
No I8Strudel, I mean rip graphics from other snes roms and not SMW. Besides, I already know how to modify SMW graphics I just need to know how to rip graphics from other snes games so I can use them however I wish. Someone please help!

Okay, I take back what I said.

1. I redownloaded xkas, then. Xkas GUI. No help there.
2. At first, I tried patching in only one patch. After I patched that in, the ROM would be crashable and unopenable in Lunar Magic.
3. Yes, I set Freespace. And I used Lunar Expand, too.
I don't know if this is basic or not but I just wanted to know if there was a hex edit to make mario small every time he enters a level. I'm sure there is but I don't wanna spend an hour looking through the ROM map page. If anyone knows tell me please.
