In round 4 now with 52.00 on Soda Lake! Not that bad, but seeing others have less than 52.00, things will get hard for me!
Also, netplaying lags and desyncs sometimes for me... D:

And did you see that one guy who lost with less than 52.00? I hear he was winning until the fifth and final run, when someone beat him by 0.04!

Well, good luck to everyone. I look forward to seeing what happens...
Your layout has been removed.
Hehe, like I predicted, some people will lose by only a matter of 0.01s. Looks like you were one of those 'some people'. D:
Anyway, the outcome of this tournament will indeed be surprising. I'm not placing bets yet. First gotta see who wins semi-final Y. {B)

Hopefully I can do good against Iceguy, staff member vs. staff member. (I think I count) Well good luck to everyone else.

:D
Yeah. Although I'd like it if you try it the way it SHOULD be done this time. (Netplay)

HuFlungDu beat me.
Fun Fact: I did not even SEE him winning. He was in Ludwig's castle for me!!! That netplay lagged like hell, seriously... There was no chance to make a proper playthrough this time. Nevertheless, I trust him and accept HuFlungDu as the winner.
I play different games on Twitch, I did speedruns of Pokemon Red and Gold, Mario Party 4, but I also do SMW stuff.
I only stream to make progress on my hack currently. Check out my twitch!

Exits done: 50, Overworld: 99%
Play through Taomb Demo 3
Taomb is alive again. Check my Twitch as I work on in it when live.

Yeah, sucks when that happens.
Anyway, Shinnok vs. Desert-Fox still needs to be finished. The winner of that one will play the semi-final against HuFlungDu.

The winner of Shinnok vs. Desert-Fox + the 3 other people who are in round 5 (I already sent them a PM regarding this) must join in SMWTT (unless they have their own way of connecting, that's fine then). If you lose, leave the channel. If you win, remain there for round 6 (which will be an interesting final).

Instructions for round 5:
You have to play Valley of Bowser 3, not that hard of a level. Deliver the results before Monday, March 8th, 2010, 00.00 UTC+1.

Instructions for round 6:
The round still needs to be chosen (refer to the OP in this thread on March 8th). You're free to deliver the results whenever - after all, nobody's waiting on you anymore. However, if you'd want to please me - and yourself, remember that there's a badge as reward for winning this tournament -, finish it before Monday, March 15th, 2010, 00.00 UTC+1.

It just goes like it went the old way, so meh.

Valley of Boozer 3... I quite like this level, actually. The inconsistent times kind of worry me though, as it is really really hard to minimize the completion time with obstacles like the timed platforms and difficult enemy placement. Very much different from Butter Bridge 2, which was mad straightforward, so I'll have to go training overtime. Well, not so much, because as usual, I'm all fired up for my next match and probably won't want to wait too long to get it on. Get hyped.

If another such event should arise (unlikely, since we're down to 4-5 contestants by now), ZSNES 1.36 should probably be used, as it's significantly more stable on netplay, I've never had even a single desynch with it.

I would like to point out at this time that I offered to null my time because he didn't see it. I don't want people thinking I was like "Well if you didn't see it that's your problem", cuz I wasn't. It just really sucks that it had to happen that way. I would have loved to have seen how that match would have gone had we not had massive lag, since without lag I consistently get 26.91 on that level, and I'm sure exit1337 would be able to do really well, so we could have posted some really nice times. Oh well.

Also: I didn't see your fastest time either. I guess you lag died on mine and that's where it started.
When I went against Iceguy, I had bad lag. :P Oh well congratulations though and good luck you!
To outsiders who are still interested in the outcome of this tournament - two of the four contestants (one in both matches) have asked for or have been given an extension of 3-4 days.

Since one of the two matches has been finished (Vic Rattlehead got a bye because Iceguy was, sadly, short on time), I decided to update the brackets and the level today.

Random.org gave out Tubular... sounds like a nice level to finish the tournament with, it couldn't have been better {B)

Hurray for tubular. That is the only one of those levels that I can actually beat fast, and it's my favorite level in the game anyways. I was really hoping outrageous didn't come up because I can't even beat that level regularly 98% of the time. Of course, it may not matter if Desert-Fox beats me so... Anyways, I'm happy with the outcome, whether I play or not.
Okay, looks like the final is Vic Rattlehead vs. Desert-Fox.
Since I'm sure Desert-Fox (and thus Vic too) is going to record himself again due to the timezone stuff, here's a small extra instruction:

- Do not show the videos of the times you've got to eachother. Show them to me only.

That's all.
--------> Don't follow "Find Roy's Dignity", my hack. Because it's pretty outdated. <--------
Humm. Timezones aren't usually an issue for me at all, it's just a matter of free time, but if he has as little as Iceguy then this is probably for the best. Not only that, but apparently he seems to live in Australia which is pretty much as far as possible from my own location, thus online would probably be a lagfest. It's a shame anyway, I like to be able to yammer on about this and that to my opponent while we do our rounds!

So, how is this supposed to be done, simple like just makin' a ZMV, or an actual video (of which I have never made on ZSNES)? Either way it's pretty much impossible to tell someone only recorded their first five runs of the level, making it easy just to try get a better time by playing more dangerously. I guess it's left to the honor/trust system, yeah?
Actually the five times rule is completely overridden at that point, then, because there's really no way to check. Just take your time.

...though, then again, I'd like to stress on the fact that the both of you are in the final now. You've got all the time there is, so I'd like it if you guys tried it the regular way, yes. Weekends, doesn't matter. Just anywhere.

Then again, don't make it take weeks. I'd like to have this tournament ended way before April. ;)

Alright, I might try to squeeze a little time out of my busy schedule (I might be moving due the perceived thought of my parents breaking up). I think we might have to go with the video option. If we do send videos, should we send you the ZMV or an .avi?

(Note to self: actually make sure you have time to participate in a contest next time)
I want to apologize to my oponinent or however you spell that. Hamachi hated me and we couldn't play. It was back at round 1, but I feel bad.
^ do not feel bad about it, you were not the only one who had trouble with it.

Either way is fine.

It's kinda pointless doing tubular since they are just going to get a game over anyway

I'm mr positive
