Although there is such a thing as a game that cannot be broken I doubt that we'll come across it anytime soon, so BRING IT ON :P

A lot of game designers forget that mario can also walk to the left... no seriously check your hack and it's likely that you forgot it at some point. If I can find a semi-hard level segment with a sprite located just before and right after that part you can go through the part 3 times (forth-back-forth) to obtain an extra sprite, most of the time equivalent to a mushroom. Hack broken XD
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

A hack that cannot be broken is easy: surround everything with cement blocks so Mario can't take different jumping paths or anything. Of course, unless you cramp it with munchers, it'll be an easy hack as he can just land on the blocks, plus it tells Mario exactly where and how he needs to go. :\

Screen broken. :P

Screen REBROKEN!

Just make sure you land on the thwomp at the very moment he is a mere pixel too low to fit mario under the dotted coin block, this way you can spinjump into the cement blocks above the next platform. Or in coordinates:
Spinjump from (5,9) to land on the thwomp around (6 1/2, 8/10). Launch yourself into (8,10) to land safely.

@Ultimaximus: If the level contains sprites it might still be broken. Other than that I agree, a boring level like you described meets the description... Now wait for somebody to put in in their hack....

you can't spinjump off a single tile like that without touching the block directly above and one tile in whatever direction you intend on going in. you just hit the munchers every time

Ah, can't believe I did that wrong... My bad.
Yup, this seems pretty hard to break (why exactly do I keep giving away my paths to break levels?). But it still is a 'build-a-bridge'-section, which makes it dull. ProtonJon once made a level to illustrate why 'build a bridge' is not fun, I doubt anybody hasn't seen the video he made yet.

Holy crap, I somehow got everyone to use the (x,y) block method thingy XD

Anyway, I'm almost done with my hack (again, I have to say it's REALLY short, and actually not that hard. It just relies on glitches, more over), but there was a giant bump in the road. When you enter doors with Yoshi, on the next screen, Yoshi dissapears... It's so weird. So I have to rethink the entire level.
Back to the subject of it being short. After testing it, I could make it harder by finding my average time of finishing the level and making that the level's time, but that would be unfair to people that don't TAS. Maybe I could add 20 seconds to it :D
I estimate that the romhack will be done today, and "released" to this thread today, if I get the testing over with quickly. Wish me luck!
Good luck!

Also I've encountered a similar problem and started a thread in the "Basic SMW Hacking" section, where I was advised to check if the destination level of your secondary exit has the 'No Yoshi' intro disabled. Perhaps that can prevent the yoshi from not appearing?

About the (x,y) method: well it works! And it's far easier to say 'the jump from (5,10) to (7,12)' than to say 'that jump near the start of the screen, at the piranha plant ceiling section where you almost always get hit? You know the really hard jump near the top, where you go up 2 blocks?'. So thank you for introducing this ;)

About the time limit: here's my advice. Personally I find it horribly annoying to go through an entire level only to have run out of time the moment I can see the end (this happened to me in the intro screen level of Yet Another Mario World, called 'Tangy'. I felt punished for not using slowdown there...). You can just use your best time (without slowdown) as a time limit, forcing the player to take at least two attempts, or you could just forget about the timing. Either make it as tight as possible or drop it alltogether, it's not fun to be rushed in a Kaizo level and have some time left...
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Well, since the game is nearly impossible to do without slowdown, I'll keep it at a very fair time limit :)
Listen carefully please:

'Nearly impossible without slowdown' differs from person to person. I myself can shelljump, P-switchjump and perform most HAAARD jumps without any slowdown. In fact there are jumps I can't make with slowdown and can make without slowdown (I've gotten that used to precision landing). For me slowdown means keyjumps or double shelljumps off of a single shell. I'd recommend not using any slowdown in testing your hack, this way you also become more skilled at playing Kaizo Hacks. And then as a time limit use your best time. If you can't beat your level without slowdown ask somebody else if it'd be possible without slowdown, but try to refrain from playtesting at half the speed or the likes! This way you'll keep it a bit fair for the players of your hack, and also there are some nice thoughts in there, especially the fact that everything you put other people through you had to go through too.
Even Kaizo hacks should be a bit fair, otherwise we'd all just make a ton of invisible mazes and invisible things that kill you... Kaizo is more than trial and error.
Of course you should fight fire with fire, you should fight everything with fire.

Link is in description - It's supposed to actually be a general easyish hack, but hey, if Super fail world was kaizoish, then I'm sure this has to be!
@Sadistic Designer: I'm not talking about shell jumps (there are tons of those), I'm talking about stuff like running, jumping and landing in a hole of spikes without getting hurt (2 vertical lines of spikes, seperated by a safe hole). There are SOOOO many of those.

I am about to finish the hack, but I have one last thing I need to finish. I forgot how to set up the level things so when you pass a certain level (other than 10D or 10E) it would show the credits, then all the stuff after it. Could someone run that by me if they know that?
Thanks!

You DO realise I used the walljump patch, right?

(Hmm...I might release a version without the walljump patch...)

I can see it now.

Super Walljump World: Impossible edition.

You know what...I'm going to do that!

Thats what I was talking about. If mario can do that, then he can enter small doors too I assume.
All levels can be broken. It's just a matter of hard and how much time you have to break it.

Oh, sorry for *facepalm*ing at you.
I guess my only real option is to use that, but I have no clue...

Well, I'll keep testing until I find the PERFECT ending for the game. If I don't get the game out today, I'm sure it'll be out tomarrow!
