The 1st level could use more decoration or it will fail (ironic by the name)Your layout has been removed.
Some problems I found in your hack: Your Music blocks seem to have bad palettes. The levels seem to be pretty flat also. At 1:36: Don't you think that is kind of unfair to have a shell come falling out of the sky and almost hit the player?
They are not big problems, not at all. But I think that they need to be fixed.
At 2:23, I think mario came out of the pipe 1 X position too high. Also, no need to be upset, but the levels were actually a bit linear. I suggest you change the palletes of the music blocks. But it would seem like a good hack.
OT: you dont need to put the embed in a code!
Thanks, I will make a second thread when i fix everything. I will have previews of the next two levels as well.
Hum..there's something I don't like about your overworld...try to make it bigger, with more levels. Also try to angle it a bit more and make put some hight lands or something, it's too flat.
First off, on the very right, The waterfall, doesn't look right. there should be a waterfall on both sides. Second, add some raised land and mix up the paths, it looks flat and boring.

What do you mean it doesn't look right and that there should be a waterfall on both sides?
I think what he means is that the waterfall on the VERY EXACT RIGHT, looks wrong. And to me, (I actually never noticed it) it does look wrong. I suggest you make a waterfall on BOTH SIDES, and make the land stretch to the side of the screen, so that it will make the land look "raised".

I kind of get what you are saying, like I should put a waterfall on the other side, but what land do I stretch out to the sides? The waterfall's or the island itself?
No offence but tying to give constructive critisizem, the levels and overworld both look very linier. The overworld is hardly decorated and the levels look like you copied and pasted chunks and tryed to cover it up by decorating it slightly differently. Also it needs some ExGFX and I saw loads of times where sprites could have easily built up on screens and could have made it lag had you not moved fast enough. Maybe I'm being to harsh as I have high expectations of all hacks I play since i discovered how easy the "hard" stuff can be.
That patch of land on the very right of the right waterfall.

You know what, I am sorry if my levels look copy and pasted because I pressed CTRL-Delete on every level. Also this is my first hack and i don't know how to add ExGFX and when i try it doesn't work right. I am currently adding more decoration to my levels now. Calm down, because my hack isn't supposed to be hard. It is supposed to be fun and enjoyable, and I don't expect it to get featured or anything. I just started rom hacking about two or so months ago.
Adding ExGFX is acctaully pretty easy. This is because you dont have to download anything except the GFX. But if you want to edit the GFX, you need YY-CHR.
