Overworld editing

How do I change overworld sprites?
I have YY-CHR and all, but how can I get a sprite from a sprite sheet or something into YY-CHR to change the GFX?

Sorry if this is a noob question but I could not find a tutorial or anything for something like this.
If you're not talking about the custom overworld sprites, click the fish icon (should be the last icon on the Overworld editor.)
I mean like, say I wanted to change the GFX of the castle to something else.
If you have the GFX already extracted and is seperated into GFX00.bin and so on and so forth then skip this.

If you dont then go to Lunar Magic and click on the red mushroom at the top and a folder will be created that is named Graphics in your Roms Directory when you open it, if its named AllGFX.bin then go back to Lunar Magic (Delete the AllGFX.bin, you dont need it) and go to Options -> Use Joined GFX Files and uncheck that and then press the red mushroom again then when you go to your Graphics Folder its all seperated.

now what you do is that you have YY-CHR and so open up GFX10.bin in it and you will see the Overworld stuff. so change that to whatever you want.

To get the palette right you will have to go to the overworld in SMW and make a savestate with ZSnes then close ZSnes and when your in YY-CHR go to Palette -> Emulator State Load or press F12 then pick the savestate you just made (Its gonna be a .zst file) and then scroll up or down to get the palette right and there you go.

Edit: If you wanted to change the Land or Layer 1 stuff then open up GFX1C.bin for whats used in Layer 2, GFX1D.bin for the other Layer 2 thing, and GFX1E.bin for the Layer 1 stuff

Hacks I Support:

I got the GFX extracted I mean I have a tree on a sprite sheet that I like, how do I put that into YY-CHR so I can save it to the GFX.Bin and put it back into Lunar.

Hope that cleared up my question a bit.
Umm, (I think) you have to copy that tree, then paste it over the original overworld GFX that you want to replace, like that rock.
But do I copy from like Paint and paste directly into YY-CHR?
And how do I keep it proportional if that is the way?
Look for the GFX of an overworld piece that you dont want, then go to the tree that you wanted, right-click-drag the parts you want to copy, ctrl-c then go to the GFX that you deleted and cntl-v
Awesome, I'm guessing I just have to switch colors around to get it right?

Would using colors from a different pallet work?
Well, this is where the kind of difficult part comes in, in lunar Magic, you have to change palletes yourself.
Oh boy... I'll have to learn that later.
Thanks a lot though, I got the sprite part down atleast.
