Possible ROM corruption?

I completed the new yellow switch palace on my hack, so it saved the progress. Will it corrupt my ROM if I edit it?
No it wont

Also, when I said edit "it", I meant the switch palace, not the ROM. Were you talking about editing the switch palace or the ROM?
Okay, I'm sure you need to read up on a few things,
Switch palace <=> The rom.

When you edit a level, the level is saved to the rom.

Give Mario some love?~
Yeah, the level is stored in the ROM.

Your progress is saved in a .srm file, not in the ROM, so the emulator only crashes if you load a savestate from the level you edited, if the savestate was made before you changed the level. But it doesn't always crash.

I was thinking the same thing about the savestates as well.
