My Files (formerly the File Bin)

I assume it probably just won't let you upload any more files until you get under the limit.
Well, it's definitly nice to have this new feature. The file bin always lagged like hell, or even crashed my browser. It's also far easier to organize the files!
Well you'll just have to delete something before you can upload something else. Or request for more space. But as I said, you'd need very good reasons.
A "view all" button would be nice, still.

And we can host stuff for use in other websites? That's a relief. When releasing my hack demo on another site, I stuck it in megaupload since I didn't think it'd be proper to link the one in the file bin.
I would like to note that the "My Files" option doesn't suddenly bend the original rules of the file bin. You still can't upload things such as ROMs there, or else they will be subject to removal of file bin rights.

Keep that in mind.
Hey, I should mention, by the way, that there seems to be a problem with My Files. It happened with the File Bin, too. As per this post, the size limit is supposed to be 4 MB. But I was trying to upload an image of a level in Lunar Magic to the File Bin that was only ~6100 KB, and it refused to upload. I thought it might just be my browser being slow, but I waited for hours for it to upload and nothing changed. (I might have even tried leaving it there overnight.) I also thought it might just be down or not fully functional temporarily, but I tried it several times and on several different days, and each time, I got the same result. I don't know what the deal is...is it just me?

What the hell. 6100 KB = 6MB > 4MB.
Change it to a PNG and it should be uploadable.
<blm> zsnes users are the flatearthers of emulation
Oops, I was thinking...yeah. I R brilyunt. But it is a PNG already. Should I use Paint or something to split it up into two files?...

Wow, you must have a really big image there. Try to convert it to JPEG or GIF if you're not that worried about minor to major quality loss.

Man, that must be one HUGE image! Same as the person above me said, but I wouldn't even CONSIDER GIF. PNG is the best, with JPEG the second-best for this type of thing.
Okay, besides my facepalm-worthy math (apparently, I can integrate a combined trigonometric and logarithmic function but don't know how many kilobytes are in a megabyte)...

That's weird...I saved it as a JPEG and got the exact same file size. The same goes for a BMP file. You weren't talking about exporting it to a bitmap via Lunar Magic, but rather opening it and resaving it with something else, I suppose?

...

Okay, never mind. Wow...I had a 6157 KB image, saved it with GIMP, and ended up with a 58.7 KB image. Lunar Magic officially fails at saving levels as pictures. I'm glad I downloaded that program.

In my oppinion, 20 MiB isn't that much.

Be thankful you get any at all.

In that way, yeah.
Why can't Kieran raise the file limitation? It costs money to store files?
Yes, in fact that does cost money. It takes hard drives to store data and hard drives cost money.

Also, maybe you should use up what you have before complaining?

Wasn't complaining. Just commenting.
You're very generous.
Right.

Extras

I should have something witty to put here (even if it's just to update dated info), shouldn't I?

Advertising Space

20mb is fine if you can manage your space properly. Use an offsite image/video site like Photobucket and YouTube for screens and videos, and just the file bin for things those sites cannot host.

Since we're speaking of hosting, I really like SkyDrive, and if you already have a Hotmail/Live account, you don't need to sign up. Yes, you can directly link pictures, although the URL will be really long.

E.g.: http://public.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pU1rNPQCHVZxV46ORVF5DSDdmhwKi8vZaTeXDf8CB1zMugq7_nW33LDer2ENgqYoRKuQOx-35viHm4DqAv1kuEw/What.JPG (I could put in <img> tags here, but the picture is too big.)

You know, once when browsing the file bin I came across something REALLY useful. However, I can't get it on the search.

I like this but I feel there should be a way to access the old filebin.
