What's wrong with the desert world and star coins?

p.s. do you like the game?

The answer should be obvious by his other posts.

Anyway, This game seems to just be a "rereg" of sorts. They seemed to have just taken new super mario bros and tweaked a few little things and added an extra mode maybe, and then slapped in on the wii calling it a new game.
It might resemble New Super Mario Brothers, but this game is a lot more fun in my opinion. I just defeated Bowser and I'm up to the secret world, and I had a heck of a time playing this game. I might make a walkthrough for it because I really can't be bothered with anything else. It was truely a magnificent thing to play, especially World 7. I really enjoyed that world.

CONTAINS LEVEL AND GAMEPLAY SPOILERS

I have a few complaints here and there, such as how during some battles, like Kamek's and Iggy's, you can fall off the stage after beating them. Problem is, movement is disabled when you deal the final blow, so you're screwed if you have a bad jump path. I also agree with Internoob, some coins are an absolute pain to get if you don't have cooperative players with you to jump and press A, so it was annoying when getting coins like, say, World 8's airship, at the end where the coin appeared UNDERNEATH the platform, meaning you had to throw something at it or have the propellor hat, both which were hard to obtain. I had to sacrafice my ice flower so I could freeze a mechabowser to throw at it. The desert levels were extremely annoying as well, but they weren't as bad as the darkness levels, particularly 8-4, which was basically completely dark, and you could easily get hit by fish since they didn't appear at all in the shadows. The final part of the level was a nuisance too, since I kept getting pushed by the water into jellyfish.

As for music ... there was some songs here and there that got stuck in your head, but by far, Giga Bowser's final battle music was the best in my opinion.

lol, yeeeeaaah. That's why I asked.
To edit it with the Tanuki Editor, do I need the ROM or the actual game?
Jake, yes I like the game. Its really fun, the only reason I'm still playing the Wii. Whats wrong with the desert world? I personally just don't like it, because it has annoying as hell music and I just thought of it as a hassle to play. I wasn't playing it for fun, rather then just to get it done with. Whats wrong with the star coins? A lot of them are stupid to find because they are located in hidden walls, and most are impossible to get without the propeller or a friend to sacrifice to get it.
Check out my profile for awesomeness!

Do you guys realize that its very possible (and quite fun) to play two players with only one player? You do need two Wii Remotes obviously, but since you can pick up and carry the other player, you can use him as a projectile to be thrown into said star coins. It also adds an interesting difficulty twist to the game, especially if you try to keep the other player alive.

Edit: Level Up! (23)

Spoiler Alert

Got the game 2 nights ago, just started playing tonight. I'm on world 3-4. I guess it's not bad. The engine feels a lot like NSMB, but at least NSMB had a good engine, so it's not a problem I get. Unlike some people in this thread, I actually really enjoyed the desert world, especially that level that blows you around :>. So far my only major complaint would be the lack of new music. Aside from the desert and ghost house, I've seen nothing new.

EDIT: The switch palace is just an OW event, not a real level. Bummer.
<-- this is the dope on dope
Well. There is a chance I'm going to get this game on Saturday or Sunday. I can't wait to play it! There may be no Wi-Fi but I enjoyed NSMB on the DS, so this game has to be awesome too!
I'm getting this for my b-day.
This could easily have been on the DS. I am disappoint.

You arent far enough in the game to see most of the new music. So yeah...

At EB games; they have NSMBWii as one of the sample game things.

It was on World-7.

I beat the game |-O
Just got the game a couple hours ago, and so far, I'm not disappointed. This is the first time in a good while that I've been so pulled in by a mario side scroller. The water levels in my opinion are the toughest.
World 2-1 ANGERS ME!
I got the game today, and I am not dissapointed in what the game is showing. I am really happy to have this game and I would like to give a big kudos to Nintendo for making such a great game again, NSMB DS was great, but NSMB for the Wii is even better and funner.

I already played in co-op mode, and it's a lot of fun. We had a lot of deaths but it was worth it.

Tonight I could maybe record some footage of the game and upload it on YouTube, but that depends.
whoa, I just found the Coolest level Ever! I'm not going to spoil it, but damn, I loved it. Sadly I was playing single player. The intensity of it would have multiplied greatly with pancho and everyone playing too.. D:

SPOILER: If you really wanna know, it was world 8-7.
Has playing the game so far given any of you guys good ideas for level design? I know it has for me.
I was hoping for a New Super Mario World on the DS. :P
