I edited my previous post with a question but this thread moves too fast :P

I take it he's not a regular spritetool inserted sprite, right?
This is a brilliant idea, Azure. This Wins.
Thanks for the reply! Anyway, it is only a matter of time before THIS happens---

It's partially an inserted sprite, though there's maybe 4 or 5 ASM hacks elsewhere for the controls, plus extended sprites for some effects. This entire thing took maybe a month total, but judging by all these responses, it was worth it. I wasn't expecting it to be this popular...

Heh. Just goes to show how much is possible with SMW hacking nowadays.
Dear lord, I think I'm gonna choke on something. This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen anyone do, and I've played a lot of great hacks. I'm suddenly reminded of New Super Mario Bros. Wii!

Amazing job, Azure.
You just won
i just lurk sometimes
Dang! You know, I had the same idea, but was too lazy to make it (and had no idea where to start anyways). Well done!

One question: What if the two players seperate too far from each other?
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!

As seen in the video, you simply respawn, like in Brawl. You can also do it on command with the L or R button.

Are. You. Serious.

Good job beating Smallhacker to it.

This is simply amazing. My jaw literally dropped when I saw the video. This will definitely open up many new possibilities with SMW.
I think if you win, you should release this. But so it doesn't get overused, give it to people you trust.

Onto the real post:
I was looking foreward to C3. The various ASM, music and blocks. Yours automatically beats anyrhing else here. Hands down.

Although, it is just Day 1. So...I shouldn't say that just yet.
Regardless:

Check out my Youtube channel! 獣耳 Brony for life.
I came...to tell you how awesome that is.

Not only that, but the way it is used in the tiny bit of level you showcased was very creative. This is pretty damn close to how awesome that one SNES mouse sprite someone made. Props, man.
Your layout has been removed.
There's a major problem with 2 player co-op: There's no reasonable way to add a real second player, so player 2 has to be a sprite. However, it's close to impossible to accurately mimic all physics and interactions of the real player, which makes no sense from the point of view of those playing the game. The only solution to this problem I've ever found is to scrap the real player altogether and make both players sprite based.

However, making player 2 significantly different by design is a solution I hadn't considered. Brilliant!
Woah! I just had a dream that some one coded a 2 player co op at once and poof.... this happened!
