Castle/Ghost Cutscene

Does anybody know the level numbers to the levels before you actually enter the castle or ghost house? Thanks in advance.
I am currently also having a problem editing these scenes. I have the hex address for the level pointers, but I just can't get it to work. See here: http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=thread&id=25551

Edit: Haha! Ninja'd the person below me! :P
There are no level numbers. There are adresses. But you cant edit those and save them to the rom, if thats what you mean.

EDIT: NINJA'D!! NOOOOO!
I've learned the collective intelligence of the human race amounts to roughly that of a bar of soap.
In other news, why am I here.
Damn, it was more of a extra anyways. Thanks again.
Well, I just got it to work using a tool made by Smallhacker. Unfortunately, it's not showing the ExGFX I want, so I'm working on getting that right (if possible). Here's the link to the tool: http://www.smwcentral.net/download.php?id=12&type=tools
If you're REALLY good you can use a hex editor. That's about the only reliable way though...

I don't think I'll be able to edit it through hex, so I'll try the tool. Thanks again.
Along with the very out dated tool, that doesn't work to well, there is also a patch that repoints all of the entrances. this patch is also made by smallhacker but i do not remember where it is but I bet if you ask him nicely he'll tell you.
Don't count on it. I don't even know where to start looking for it. It was probably lost in one of my many hard drive crashes.

Edit: Besides, it probably sucked.

Actually I think it's in the file bin somewere all I know is some one pointed it out in another thread anyways it actually works surprisingly well compared to the tool the only bad thing is you have to repoint all entrances not just a couple of them.
I think I've got enough info now.

I'll try finding it. Anyways thanks again.
I'm pretty sure that there is a tool in the tool section by Smallhacker that would do this.

Super Mario World - Entrance Level Repointer

Yes I am too lazy to link to it.
Your layout has been removed.
Maxwell, I already linked to that tool...
As I mentioned in the other thread, just hex editing (or using my program) is unreliable as the levels will be moved around if you lock the hack (not to mention after resaving the level), meaning that you have to rerepoint the cutscenes after locking/resaving. (The previously mentioned patch I made was meant as a replacement, as it was designed to not require repointing after resaving the level/locking the hack.)

To make things messier, you can't easily use my program to do the needed rerepointing of the levels once the hack has been locked. Back then, I always added a piece of code to my programs that refuses to load locked ROMs. Luckily, I also coded a way to bypass it by using the command line argument -steal (case sensitive).

My old tools are old, outdated, crappy, buggy and... god knows what else. I strongly discourage the use of most of them.
