Yup, the XP system is pretty uselessly filled with random stats that are nearly useless.

Though, for the most part, you can see what they are all about in the skills part of the game. I think all skills are associated with a certain amount of every stats.

Exemple: 100% STR, 50%DEF, 0 for everything else.

That would basically mean that the effect of the skill is of that much.

I think also that the PDEF and MDEF have something to do with normal attack and skills. Agility has something to do with speed in battle.
I THINK DEX increases the chance of hit (and, maybe AGI also decreases the chance of being hit). I think ATK is the basic attack multiplier. Or maybe it's STR...

There's also a stat that increase the critical chance, but I don't remember which it is.

Actually, PDEF refers to physical defense and MDEF refers to Magic Defense.
Layout by Counterfeit.
Not that I don't believe you all, I just wish that there was just an official source that stated what these mean...
STR- Base attack, a non-controllable (In-Game) value of damage.
DEX- Elevates chance to land an attack.
AGI- Elevates chance to dodge an attack, and commands what order battlers attack in.
INT- Magical attack power.
ATK- Equipped weapons physical power, effects physical Skill power.
PDEF- Defense against physical attacks.
MDEF- Defense against magical attacks.

I may have gotten STR and ATK mixed, it's been awhile since I've done anything with XP's system...

I have one project in XP and one in VX. I also took all of the MIDIs and converted them to MP3, so now they sound better and are in much higher quality! I have the download link in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qv47Y7xKZKE
Anyways, the projects are Random Adventure (XP) and Random Adventure II: The Sequel (VX). I'm sure it's not the first time somebody's been working on the sequel at the same time as the original.
I just downloaded rpg tsukuru 2,the second rpg maker for snes, and I must admit it's a pretty good program. But there are still some problems with it,for one, there are a LOT of text glitches, mainly because the translation is only 80% complete. But there is another glitch,I made a game with it,and sometimes when you hit a critical hit the game freezes and resets. But this time it deleted my game!So I was wondering if someone would like to help finish the translation and fix the glitches. If I should make a new forum for this, just tell me where.

If the game is being translated, then you should contact the person who is making the translation and ask about the project's current status. Translating a game is a time testing thing to do, so if the project is canceled and you make a thread asking for someone to complete it, don't be sad if no one takes it up.

The game was 80% translated by magecraft translations around 2000,but they gave up.Since it's already 80% done it should be easier.

In my game in XP, the main character is a dragon (Monster 13). I tried to get the sprites to work in VX, but it keeps cutting the sprites up into little tiny sections. Could somebody help and/or make new sprites for VX that look like the dragon from XP?
The charachter set in XP is different from VX.

The only difference is that in XP, it is divided in 4 images and 4 directions, making 16 images for one character.
In VX, there are 3 images, 4 directions and 8 characterset, for a total of 96 images, 12 for each of the 8 character set.

The way you can make it work is by supressing the second identical image, and making the image 12 blocks large and 8 blocks high.

I knew that in VX there has to be 8 characters and less specific things, but it still didn't work. I probably just need a VX styled dragon...
What do you mean it doesn't work?! Post the edited picture!

Dear Maker friends,

Over the last few weeks I worked on a translation of the RPG Maker 2000 VALUE! v1.51 that is now finally done.

The RPG Maker 2000 VALUE! v1.51 is the newest Version of the RPG Maker 2000. To get it you have to update an older version. You can do that with either the RPG Maker from an original RPG Maker 2000 VALUE! CD (RPG Maker 2000 VALUE! v1.50) or with Don Miguel's English version (RPG Maker 2000 v1.07) and possibly any other version below v1.51 as well.

My main attempt was to create a universal, easy to understand translation and an alternative to Don Miguel's translation. I guess I've also quite accomplished that. A few terms were changed and you'll have to get used to them, but I think that's just a small price. Also the ingame terms can now be used without killing an Enlish teacher. The only thing I left untranslated is the help file.

I changed many of the RPG Maker 2000 dialouges in layout to easier display the text. Additionally my patch comes with two custom fonts based on MS Gothic and MS Mincho that replace RMG2000 and RM2000 respectively. Since they use the same file names as Don's fonts there shouldn't be incompatibility issues.

Some minor glitches of the older RPG Maker translations were also fixed. For exmaple: Writing messages. In the old translations it was hard to see in the Maker where a dialouge box ends. I fixed that problem so that now by the seperation lines you can see where a line ends.

Also I changed the font in the Event Commands section to make everything a bit cleaner. I used a block font as it is used with programming languages and increased the size. That helps you not to lose track of cour source code.

Main feature of the translation, I guess, is the EnteroHeroName-fix that is included to it and fixes all the layout glitches of the older versions. You can only use up to 6 characters, though. If your hero has a default name of 7 or more chracters you'll also get layout glitches.

I'd like to thank Bananen-Joe for providing his EnterHeroName-fix and MagicMaker for helping me with the translation itself and testing it.

Detailed installation instructions can be found in the Readme.

I guess now it's time for some screenshots and the download.

Does it have a version that works on OSX?

I've been meaning to look at game creation alternatives to smw hacking that are legal, so I'll try this and possibly danmakufu. Anyway, which version of rpgmaker is the newest/most recommended? I'm rather decent at coming up with plots off the top of my head. How about: The Takeover RPG! Your party is comprised of Kieran's agents and Kieran joins your party during the endgame. XD Then in the end the smwc reactor core explodes (downtime) and the world is sucked into the void. Then, Kieran sacrifices himself to revive the core.
I've realized this was outdated.
I'm making a fangame with an Animal Crossing town, but the music isn't working right. I set it to use conditional branches, but the game seems to be ignoring them and using it as a random number generator instead. It may have something to do with this script I'm using, but I wouldn't know for sure.
