Ohh, this looks pretty good! The graphics are pretty nice and the overworld's great! The harder level thing's a pretty unique idea. I like the storyline.

Wait a sec... This is, or was EOS part 2, right? Because I played part one and that was Vanilla-Almost Vanilla.
And I remember there being a C3 thread about part 2...

Also, there are some parts of the OW that are a bit empty. DO you stil have OW tiles left, if yes, you might wanna use them for decoration...
This used to be TEOS2, yes. TEOS1 was cancelled. Also, there's plenty of space left in the overworld graphics files, I'll look into adding some decorations. Thanks.

I guess this isn't late enough to be considered a bump.

TEOS is on hold for a while while I work on my level for the chocolate level contest. In the meantime, I figured I'd share some information about the worlds in this hack.



World 1 ~ Latcari

This is basically an introductory world, so I don't really have much information about it. The plot isn't developed much yet at this point of the game. It's full of easy levels to start the player off.



World 2 ~ Ferstur Tunnels

A tunnel system linking the east and west parts of the island. The tunnels are actually entered twice throughout the game - the lower part is the main part of the tunnel and makes up world 2, and the boss of world 5 lurks in the ruins on the cliff.



World 3 ~ Sorimi Forest

What was once a calm, serene forest has become dangerous and full of monsters. This is due to the meddling of the main antagonist of the game, Vaires. A curse was placed on Eluin, a vine-like deity who rules over the forest and controls all plant life.

The forest is named after the Earth God, Sorim.



World 4 ~ Mosisto Ruins

The ruins of an ancient civilization, located north of Sorimi Forest. It is also Vairos' base.



Subworld ~ Avara Falls

A small set of levels on and near the bridge between Mosisto Ruins and Crois. These falls split the island in two, and at the bottom lies an island, which seems to be accessible through a tunnel. Interesting...



World 5 ~ Crois

The only human settlement in this area of Perroth. Past Castle Crois is the Great Wall of Crois, separating the rest of the island from the Haslat Desert. Vaires seems to be interested in reaching the Haslat Desert, but cannot get past the wall.



World 6 ~ Haslat Desert

(YES THIS SUBMAP IS BORING I REALLY SHOULD ADD MORE DECORATIONS.)

The dreaded Haslat Desert, sealed away for centuries by the Great Wall of Crois. To the north, a tower (which I haven't drawn yet sorry) protrudes from the ground. This is the Seal Tower, which was built thousands of years ago to lock away a mysterious power. Vaires seems to be very interested in obtaining this power...

There is also another world, the last world, and a hidden optional world. I don't have anything to show for either of them, but they're secret for now anyway.
yes, you really need decorations, other than that your job looks nice, keep doing a good job.

Looks quite nice. Let's see here...

-I like that OW (though the sand in the first world, the desert, and the cave could use more decoration).
-That title screen is epic. o_o You may want to change the letters on the bottom so that they match each other, though.
-The level design looks very nice, though it could use a bit more enemies throughout.
Your layout has been removed.
Now that the chocolate level contest is over, I can get back to work on this hack.

Also, Smallhacker gave me a beta of Terra Stripe to test out, and I decided to do so with the overworld border. But honestly, I have no idea what I want to do with it. Any ideas?

How about using the bottom tile of the layer 3 water as "transition" tiles between the overworld and the border? That's what I'll probably be using in A Strange Mission as well. (By the way, if I may ask, what kind of beta is it? What's different from the public version?)

All the level design looks fairly well thought out and well done. I really do like the tree graphic, the shading on it is great. The end world palette is pretty good, but maybe tone down the dirt. Less... saturated. (I think that's the word I'm looking for.)

I would try to draw some cactus again or something because you really need some decoration there. I like the look of the big tower, though.

Screen 1: Looks like a really nice kind of orange in the background, and I've always been fond of the underwater effect, regarding how it's darker where there is ground.
Screen 2: Nice nighttime palette, but what really caught my eye was the chuck --> Knight. That has to be one of the best, most clever sprite changes I've seen to date. The attention to detail on him is good too, like the belt for instance.
Screen 3: Those staws are pwetty.

All the decoration looks good too. I like the Palm Tree in the third shot.

Nice stuff here - I've always though the shadow effect with the water meeting the ground was a nice touch. And yes, the stars are pretty.

Are you going to be doing a sort of day/night transition thing, or are these all separate levels? Either way, spiffy.
Those are all actually separate levels. However, throughout the world, the levels will progress from day to night and back to day again.

Also, that's actually not a knight, it's an ogre underling of one of the main antagonists of the hack. But that's a part of the plot which will be revealed later.

Wait did you change the hitbox of the grinders too, or does that just change with the graphics? Since those are considerably smaller... Cool idea though.
