[Tutorial] Playing ROM Hacks On Your Wii

This is just a simple tutorial for playing (SNES) ROM hacks on your wii.

First off, you must have the Homebrew Channel installed.

If you have your wii connected to the internet, than you should use this way.

Otherwise, use this way. Part two of video: link

Once that's done, install the "Homebrew Browser" app. Video

Now load up the homebrew browser, go to "Emulators" and download "Snes9x".

When that's finished downloading, put your SD card back in your computer. Patch the hack you want to play to a clean ROM (if it's a smw hack, patch it to a clean SMW rom, if its a YI hack, patch it to a clean YI ROM, and so on).

Now copy the patched ROM onto your SD card. Now go back to your wii, load up homebrew, and then "Snes9x". When your selecting the ROM to play, choose the hack. Now when you start the game, it'll be the hack!!

If you have any questions or problems, don't hesitate to post them here.

You didn't mention the problem that one has if they already updated their Wii.

If you've updated your Wii you probably shouldn't bother looking into homebrew anyways. The only real solution is to wait until hackers learn how to get it onto the newest version, and to NOT update your Wii in the meantime.
This will be helpful to most users, I hope. I already had Homebrew installed, and can run SNES ROMS on my Wii, so it isn't helpful to me. Also, I think that the Wii version of "SNES9X" is called "SNES9X GX"
I have to get homebrew on my Wii again :<
I still have system version 4.1, will it work with that too?

Don't update your wii anyway, it does nothing and has a chance to brick your wii.

It should work, but you should downgrade your wii to version 3.2 first, just to be safe. That's what I did.

Does no one know about Bannerbomb or something? That's something that you can use to install homebrew on 4.0, 4.1, AND 4.2! I know it works, because I did it with 4.0u and it installed just fine! Also, with the current stuff hackers have right now, we are able to get free VC games on any version of a wii, able to play hacks on this site on wii (Which you know already), and GBA games! So if you didn't downgrade you wii, DON'T! Because you can do all this without downgrading your wii.

Ah, but there's a chance of bricking your wii, so do it if you're feeling bold and want to take the risk(s), and I'm not taking responsibility for any wiis getting broken. But it worked for me...
Homebrew works for me but I was wondering. If I update my Wii, will the channel become unreadable? My family likes using the shop channel a lot and the only way to get there is to update the Wii. Also, will the channel still work if I transfer it over to the SD card? Please respond.

Edit: Nevermind.
My software never has bugs...it just develops random features.
