The Virus thread

yeah, after reading the Slash´s thread i decided to Remake this old thread, here you can talk about viruses, spyware, trojans and other stuff you got on your computer.

Some years ago i got a virus, that virus made every single page look like a porn site and "weird sounds" come from the speakers, i lost everything since it destroyed the software.
I do pixels sometimes
Heh, I got a virus that made the chickin song play all the time and turned all the files in my documents into a ??? file type that was named up yours. That fact that anyone thought that was funny anoyed me more than anything else. Also for some reason when I opened internet explorer I was directed to a page called do a barrel rick roll.

The person that wasted there time doing that is realy sad.

Got a new laptop anyway.

(Uhh... that reminds me of my freinds computer that was virused and when turned on just showed a picture of a kid sticking his tounge out.)

My viruses were much less funny, they broke java and javascript in internet explorer, prevented me from installing certain anti-virus programs and eventually killed the hard drive or something. I use linux on my new computer, no problems at all. Although I mainly did it because I didn't like vista, not because of viruses.

I got a fairly stupid virus where all my files became disorganized.

I have a virus closes anti-virus programs (BTW, know what to do, go to the Computing forum and post in mah thread.) Also one that if I have something in my Search Box, it pops up on different sites.
Your layout has been removed.
I seem to have a virus that disables Game Maker games, which sucks, because now I can't play An Untitled Story anymore. :(
A very long time ago, about a few weeks after I got my computer, I was obsessed with a game called M.U.G.E.N. I downloaded a stage. It gave me a virus! What did it do? IT DIDN'T LET ME RUN ANY PROGRAMS EXCEPT FOR WINDOWS EXPLORER. Also, it messed up Windows Explorer so it won't show any pictures. I finally downloaded an Anti-Virus software and got rid of the virus. Also, a few weeks ago, I went to a website, and a pop-up appeared saying my computer is under virus attack. Guess what I did? I flipped my laptop over and took out the battery. My computer didn't get the virus. :D
I got a virus that made my computer extremely slow. Way too slow. It took 30 seconds to click on a link. It was so irritating. I managed to remove it, and my computers now fine, But It's still a bit slow. Another thing I have to try to fix I guess.
Finally decided to actully work on a hack. I haven't thought of a name for it yet, and I'm only done 45%.

I saw that too. I makes it look like you have 27 virus's on your computer and asks you to dowload a peice of software to stop them. What actuly happens is if you run the software you loose control of the computer forever and the only thing to do is to never use it again, or whoever made that will use it to do more stuff like that.

That happened to my freind, and he is in big trouble for downloading the file.

Oh yeah, I also had adware that redirected a lot of the links I clicked on from search engines to ads.

What is the purpose of adware? I mean, who would buy a product because adware made them view it?

Yeah, I've seen those before. They make a mockup of "My Computer" and tell you that there are viruses, but it is flawed for several reasons:

  • They do not know who the computer accounts are, so it can only display Shared Documents and My Documents, instead of Shared and *Username*'s Documents.

  • They can't know if flash drives and stuff are plugged in, so they aren't displayed.

  • The My Computer screen will never have warnings that there are viruses.

  • Unfortunately, those with less computer experience won't know this, and gullibly install it.

Because they have the best product ever. </sarcasm>
Trojan horses are a pain in the bum because they tend to give my computer lots of lag.
I got a virus once called "NotaVirus" once, I lol'd. The worst virus I ever had opened up a naked dude everytime I called on a program, and I'm straight and have never looked at porn til then. I was 9.

    SUPER EPIC RANT
Interestingly, I do some virus to my computer, use them to my advantage. Also, I haven't virus on my PC.

I got Adware, linking to Game-Sites, whenever I opened a Browser. Finally I got rid of it.

I had a virus on many other computers while playing with the ZSNES at school.

That was my first time I got in trouble as a Sophomore last year.
Your layout has been removed...NOT! :D
I've had Adware before many times but this last time was horrible, it kept bringing up popups when I was asleep so it left my comp even more vulnerable for attacks from them. I wake up to Trojan Horse, I then later find out that many of my system32 files were disabled or corrupt, I couldn't run explorer.exe without it giving me trouble, hpqimzone.exe refused to start, on occasion task manager wouldn't start, I couldn't even run PC Recovery or format from my OS itself so I had to press F11 at my computer startup screen, so I turned the WLAN off on my laptop, transferred all my files to an external hard drive and reformatted. I REALLY didn't feel like losing 58,000 songs, I need my music! D:
I think a post layout goes here somewhere...
