The ExGFX Removal Log

Link Thread Closed
Any ExGFX that has been removed from the site will be recorded here. If a submission of yours is removed, please fix it up and resubmit it.

Thank you.
(Note that I'm not an exgfx mod, so those will be available for a little longer.) Thanks Broozer.

NO
If the author wants it here, he would've submitted it himself.

ExGFX Name: [FG] Custom Space V1.1 - 1.5 KB - Downloaded 2 times.
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author: n00b - Submitted by: n00b
Description: This is A Update To Custom Space.

v1.1 -Added New Tiles
Delete The Other One
[FG]Custom Space

Notes:
Insert The ExGFX File On FG3.
Doesn't Use Custom Palette.
No credit is needed.
Enjoy!!!
----------
You're wasting 8x8 tiles like hell.
You're using 76.
I can't see why you would need more than 8.
Please remove the duplicates and try again.

Or rather, DON'T try again until you've made some more unique tiles. Eight is too little to be accepted. Make some decorations, and add some variation in your tiles.

ExGFX Removed:
Name: Switch Blocks to Mario 64 blocks 1.1
Type: Rip
Palette: 0x0
Author & Submitted by: HunterMetroid
Description: an update on the last version. uses original palette

Reason: While they look good, the line of blue on the red switch block doesn't look very eye-appealing. (the old version didn't have this)

ExGFX Name: [BG] Mountains and Forest
Type: Rip
Palette: Custom
Author:
Submitted by: mario fan......
Description: I riped this,i do not know the Author.
Removal Reasons:
Aren't you that one dude that submitted the same thing a while ago, and that ripped it FROM A HACK? I guess you are. If you do not even know the author's name, it is clear enough that you hadn't asked for permission before submitting the graphics to the database. Also, I suppose we really don't need this on the site, mainly because we already have an ExGFX submission hosted in the database in which around 98% of it serves the same purpose as yours.
ExGFX Removed:
Name: [BG & FG] Super Mario Bros. 3 (SMAS) World 1-1
Type: Rip
Palette: Custom
Author & Submitted by: GameGuy10
Description: A rip from SMAS SMB3 1-1

Reason: Please use F2 to save your BG map16 page, not F7. F7 exports all the BG map16 pages from the ROM into one file, whereas F2 just exports the current BG/FG page. The filename will be the same as FG's, though, so either change it to something like Map16Page(BG).bin or put it in its own folder... and don't worry about Map16pageG.bin.
ExGFX Removed:
Name: [MISC] Quicksand
Type: Original
Palette: 0x2
Author & Submitted by: Sonikku
Description: Uses Exanimation. I didn't include a palette, since I'm sure you guys can come up with one yourself haha.

Reason: I'm not sure how this passed moderation, but please include a palette where necessary, nobody really wants to have to make it themselves.

ExGFX Name: [OW] H.Bro Overworld Graphics
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author: http://www.smwcentral.net/?p=profile&id=Golden Mushroom
Submitted by: Golden Mushroom
Description:
ExGFX made by:
Golden Mushroom
black knight

Give credit if used.
Delete that other ExGFX, there was a error.

Removal Reasons:
The riding poses for Mario were left unedited. Also, please keep in mind that demanding credit for RIPPED graphics must be avoided... basically, instead of going for something like "Please give credit if used/Credit is OBLIGATORY." and stuff, simply go for things like "Credit is not necessary, but would be appreciated".

I have also deleted the other ExGFX file you submitted per request.

ExGFX Removed:
Name: [BG & FG] Super Mario Bros. 1 (SMAS) - Various Graphics
Type: Rip
Palette: Custom
Author & Submitted by: GameGuy10
Description: (NULL)

Reason: The FG portion of this is just fine, but please include a sample level for the BG, as it isn't exactly self explanatory to assemble.
Removed ExGFX ID 1889

ExGFX Name: Paper Mario 2: Switch GFX - 8 KB - Downloaded 4 times.
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author: HauntedMetroid - Submitted by: HauntedMetroid
Description: One day i thought, why dosent SMWC have the switch GFX from paper mario 2? Why dont i make them? well, here they are!

Reasons: It's like 2 mins in yy-chr with only rectangle tool..

ExGFX Name: [BG] Mario & Wario: Flower Fields
Type: Rip
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: Luigi-Boo
Description:
Uses FG2 and BG1.

Credit would be nice, but you don't have to.

Removal Reason(s):
Pretty cool rip, actually! There's something wrong with the Map16Page.bin file, though - it seems like there are some tiles missing in it, causing the background not to show up ENTIRELY in the MWL file.

After comparing the Map16 page where I loaded the Map16Page.bin file at to the one shown by the screenshot you submitted, I came to the conclusion that the tiles that are missing are the ones which I highlighted in red in the following image:

As you can see, they're not available within the Map16Page.bin file you included within the ZIP:

Please look into fixing that small "issue" before re-submitting the graphics to the database.
Here comes more sideseating...
ExGFX Name: [FG] Thin Brambles - 2.5 KB - Downloaded 31 times.
Added: 2009-08-19 14:57:22
Type: Original
Palette: 0x2
Author: Unknown - Submitted by: Ragey
Description: A thin bramble foreground. I do not know who made this, but I found this in an unlocked ROM which contained no Readme or credits. As such, I more or less suppose this is open source, and I needed something like this anyway.

Reason:
So this is from another hack.
I assume that if you needed a bike, and saw one on the street without any signs of who the owner is, you'd take it? Because what you did is basically the same. WE DONT WANT THIEVES HERE

ExGFX Name: [FG] DeeY's Mario Tileset 3
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author: DeeY
Submitted by: Richard Dawkins
Description:
This is made by Deey from MFGG, I just ripped and submitted. uses almost all of FG3.

Removal Reason(s):
Although this looks like a pretty nice rip and all, you apparently forgot to include the Map16PageG.bin file within the ZIP.

ExGFX Name: Simplex - Grassland
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: neini the ghost
Description:
My first submission. As the name implies, this is a simple grassland. It includes slopes, water, spikes and scenery. Give credit if used!

Removal Reason(s):
Some of your slope tiles are assembled incorrectly. I assume this should be of great help to you when assembling your slope tiles.
Removed: [MISC] No more Cutoff tiles
Submitted by: devil-treme
Description: This zip has a few GFX files that will make most cutoff objects to not have cutoff.
I made this so no more people will have cutoff in there hacks.

I can see where this would be useful, but it's really only tiny edits, and something easily done on one's own in about 2 minutes, really.
Removed: [FG] Grass Graphics
Author: Marisa
Description: This is my first attempt at making a Foreground graphics and here are my results. The zip contains the palette, readme, graphics file, and the Map16pages. No credit needed but would be nice.
Reason: Requested by author.

ExGFX Name: MARIO to YOSHI Name Change
Type: Original
Palette: 0x0
Author & submitted by: GOP1994GOP
Description:
Requested by Hawk400206.

Removal Reason(s):
The REQUESTER HIMSELF could copy-paste the regular font tiles that form the name "Yoshi" over the "Mario" thingy graphics. Honestly, it is not hard at all to do that - I, myself, could do what you did in less than a few minutes.

ExGFX Name: [PLAYER] Yoshi (Demo version)
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: marioVSshadow
Description:
My first submission here. Replace the Mario bros with Yoshi's! Pallets need some custom work on them. Not provided with pack. Sorry. Currently only small Yoshi has been made.

Removal Reason(s):
I am sorry, bud, but we do not approve ExGFX submissions that are incomplete. Please be sure to change the player graphics to the maximum if you really want to see this in the database.

ExGFX Name: [MISC] SMB3 Allstar Muncher ExAnimation
Type: Rip
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: Fourpify
Description:
Requested by ChaoticFox

Please Note: the file that comes with this is a .rtf which can be opened with Wordpad since Notepad dosent save the pictures

Removal Reason(s):
In spite of plenty of people knowing how to correctly set up such simple animations, we still have lots of users that just don't know the first thing about ExAnimation. Therefore, it would have been great if you had included a MWL file that shows how the animation needs to be set up, regardless the simplicity of it.

ExGFX Name: redrawn squishable goomba
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: Atester
Description:
I made this because theres nothing like this,credit not needed.

Removal Reason(s):
It seems like you pretty much included the wrong ExGFX file within the ZIP. Shouldn't there have been included a file that is actually compatible with the SP2 slot?

ExGFX Name: Snowball Pokey
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: Gamecubeman
Description:
GFX09 will replace pokey into snowball pokey. Have fun with it!

Removal Reason(s):
As I see it, the only thing you did was rip the needlebomb thingy from YI, remove its needles, as well as the whole shading in it, and change the color it uses so that it looks like an actual snowball... as for the segments, all you did to make them was probably use the circle tool in YY-CHR and slightly edit the outline in it. Sorry, but as far as I'm concerned, this isn't enough for your graphics to pass the moderation.

ExGFX Name: [ S ] Dry (skeleton) Chuck and Hammer Bro
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: UntitledUser
Description:
Based on Rock's skeleton ExGFX. Includes the chuck, hammer bro, axe replacing hammer and bone replacing boomerang.

ExGFX Name: [ S ] Dry (skeleton) Dino Torch
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: UntitledUser
Description:
Based on Rock's skeleton ExGFX. The skeleton version of Dino Torch, includes the side bullet bill.

ExGFX Name: [ S ] Dry (skeleton) Koopa, Goomba and Plant
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: UntitledUser
Description:
Based on Rock's skeleton ExGFX. The skeleton version of koopa, goomba (includes classic), piranha plant and venus.

Removal Reason(s):
All righty... the first submission was most likely STOLEN from Rock and Cyphermur9t rather than BASED ON something Rock made. The second one, as well as the third one were obviously stolen from Cyphermur9t's hack.

ExGFX Name: Happy guy (Koopa replacement)
Type: Original
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: metaking
Description:
These are replacement for the koopas. And plus,you have bonus replacement!(Like the Bullet Bill.)

Removal Reason(s):
The only GFX file you included within the ZIP wearing the new graphics is GFX01.bin - how about GFX00.bin? You really shouldn't forget that there's a certain frame used by Beach Koopas as soon as they are pushed off of their shells that is actually located at such GFX file:

(Please ignore the Mario graphics - they're yet another ExGFX submission I had moderated decades ago and I'm STILL too lazy to simply replace them with the original graphics)

ExGFX Name: Mario 64 wooden mario head
Type: Rip
Palette: Custom
Author & submitted by: metaking
Description:
A request from Zappyrangh20.

This is a wooden panel from Super Mario 64.

Good luck at finding the palette!
(The original is included.)

Removal Reason(s):
Hah - so... are you REALLY saying that whoever downloads this is supposed to make a 16-bit palette out of the mess of colors included in that BMP file? Dude...

Seriously, though, it would have been better if you had actually included a TPL/PAL file within the ZIP. You could simply use IrfanView or something to turn the BMP you included into a 16-bit image and them rip the colors you obtained afterwards.
