When I was really young, I wanted braces because I liked that I could get different colors of elastics. Now, of course, I know that getting braces is just silly, in my case, because my teeth are well enough aligned that an orthodontist can't make me or my parents believe they aren't, in order to make me wear them. I went to an orthodontist, and his stammering was just hilarious, I was having trouble holding in my laughter at his idiotic reasoning until I got back into my car and drove home. "You- you'll be sorry when everyone's teeth are better than yours!" Good times.
Anyway, there are a lot of people in my class with braces - almost half of us, in fact - and some people's braces I honestly don't even notice, but others make it really obvious that they have them. It's weird, because the people who're more talkative are the ones whose braces I barely notice, and the people who only say what they need to are the ones who just seem to always have them shining at people, blinding them with their awesome magnetic lasers.
Originally posted by S.N.N.To be honest, the retainer you're forced to wear after you get your braces off is probably worse than the braces themselves.
Yeah, there was a kid in my school last year who had a retainer, and he would just talk like he was holding back a gallon of saliva in his throat. I feel sorry for the kid, but he's done with that retainer now, so it's all good.
