How to make a good looking overworld

What do you think of my submap?

It is in my hack and I want some tips on improving it.

-You should try and make the map less blocky.
-Try to make your levels less linear. Just moving to the right, and then up seems pretty dreary.
-Add corner tiles underneath your curved 1/2 water, 1/2 land tiles. (The ones in the top-right quadrant).
-Don't make a shipwreck that's cutoff half way by the screen. It looks odd all the way over there, in the side of the map.

Thanks for the tips.

I probably make overworlds a different way than anyone else. :/
First, I just concentrate on this overworld.

After a while, I get an idea, and bam. :P

No, seriously. I just paste random tiles anywhere and fix/clean it up later. It really works for me. XD

I find it easier to wipe everything, but keep tiles on all rotations that I'm going to be using more often, this way it speeds things up.

Wow, your pretty lucky, it takes me forever to make a decent overworld. I could make a overworld really good but it takes a lot of time.

Same thing i do. :P

@Fireblast124: That's pretty god for a beginner, but there are some perspecitve issues, such as in the bottom left, and the top section. All those trees all clumped together look a bit weird also, spice it up a bit! ;)

Hey guys I want to show my overworld how do I take a picture of it and post it here?
Thanks-TheKoopKooper

1. in the overworld editor, press *Print screen* on your keyboard.
2. Paste into paint/photoshop/etc. and cut out the overworld part.
3. save it as a PNG image for best quality.
4. upload to image host, (Photobucket, imageshack).
5. in the picture button where you post, click it, and enter the url.
6. We can see your picture!

EDIT: Level up.
I have laptop and I dont see a Print Screen Key
Thanks-TheKoopKooper
I have a laptop too. My "Print Screen" key is shared with the insert key... yours might have a different one. But anyway, do you have a function button? It's a button with "fn" encased in a square. If you press that, then press another button, the computer will do whatever is in that square. So, for example, the insert/print screen button: if I press insert, it behaves normally. If I hold fn, then press insert, it will print screen, because "prt sc" is encased in the square. You get the idea. Chances are you have to use the function key to find it.
Usually it's next to the ctrl, windows key, and alt on the right ;)

If you have vista then you can Goto Control Panel> Ease of Access>Ease of Access Center>Start on-screen keyboard.
In the on-screen keyboard goto keyboard>enhnaced keyboard. PRC (AKA Print Screen) is to the right of F12.
