Boss Music?

So, I know how to add music and crap, and my romhack is turning out great, but I cant change the music for when you fight Iggy or someone else. So if anyone could extend on this it would help...

I know...But I changed it, I switched it...But it dosent do anything...
Make sure to put an x in front of the offset (assuming you haven't already), otherwise it will lead to a wrong offset.

What?
When you are actually jumping do the offset (if you are using Translhextion), then you need to type 'x286E1' to get to the right offset, which should be 05 by default. Change it to a level track that you have inserted into your hack for a boss .. say, 25 for example.

Once you do that, go into Lunar Magic, find the boss stage that has the music you want to change, and edit the music in the level properties menu (Level -> Change properties in header). The number 05 should be replaced with the number you changed in the hex editor (in my example, 25). Save, and test. It should work then.
Well....Personally, I'm kinda slow when it comes to directions, but I did what you said, (Sort of) and it still didnt work..
I think that you should learn a little more about Translhextion and how to use it, and try again. I'm pretty sure it's just a very minor thing. If you jump to x286E1, you will realise that there is a little pair of numbers for every number like: 286E1, 286E2, 286E3.
Vertically it jumps numbers, horizontally it goes one number after the other. Go down to 000286DA, it should be the 8th pair of numbers after it, starting from the left, they should be set to 05 for the moment.. Note that when you click on a pair of numbers, it shows exactly where you are at the bottom left of the window. Example: If you click on the first pair of numbers after 000286DA, it will say 165594=0x286DA.

Anyway, to put it simpler, because I suck at teaching this crap, press:

Offset-Jump to...-write down x286E1-press ok-it will bring you right to the 05 you have to change.

I hope I cleared something.
Gah, it's much easier to use Hex Workshop because
1. I can make the edits to my roms easier
2. I can port music from a Genesis game to my Sonic hack

Still, Translexfaggymcjoe is your choice, and I can't change that.
aka amphobius
Personally, I'm mre of a hands-on kind of guy, so I need some sort of video walkthrough..
Tag (span) was not closed.
I'm going insane.. A video walkthrough for changing 2 numbers in HEX?
I could follow these instructions eyes closed.. There is even a CTRL shortcut.

Do this... straight forward.
Press on "Offset"- Press on "Jump to..."- write down "x286E1"-press "ok"

A "05" will be highlighted, change it to the number of the music you want.

I'm sorry to be rude, but after this, click on "ROM Map" and look at all of those ROM Addresses you can change in HEX. Tell me if we should make a video for each one... I'm sorry, but I doubt someone would make a video of this.

And @ DalekSam: Translhextion is a good program when you don't want to bother with shortcuts. Its complex but directly at disposal.
I...Still dont understand....Cal me a lunar Idiot...but seriously thoug, Im not computer perfect...No offense...
1. Open up Transhexlation.
2. Press Ctrl+O and select your rom.
3. Press Ctrl+G and type in "x286E1" (without quotes) and click "OK".
4. Click on the highlighted number until your cursor is flashing on top of it.
5. Type in the number of your custom music.
6. Press Ctrl+S. You are done.

If you have trouble with any of these, tell me which number you are having trouble with.
Now with extra girl and extra hacker
What is transhexlation?!
Look in the tools section.

At times like this, you need to step back and say, "Where's the Balloon Party?"
Chuck13s, if you are new here... and new to hacking games too, I suggest that you start with more basic stuff and post in n00b or Basic forums. If you don't know about more advanced editing programs, Advanced SMW hacking is really not your section. With the information we provided you, I feel more like you are making fun of us trying to explain in different ways. I mean, with the explanations we gave you, I don't even understand how you wouldn't have figured out that Transhexlation is a program that would probably be in the Tools section of this site.

The best thing to do is for you to download the program and play around with it. Then, try to follow our instructions. Each little number affects something in the game, it's basically the game's code.
Well, yeah I thought so too...The only things I can really do is change music and make my own blocks without custom block maker, or whatever...I just really want my romhack to seem...Profesionall...Like yours are, so make fun of me if you want too. I probably deserve it...XD lolz....[EDIT] On the contrary! I actually was a total idiot, I didnt get what you meant by, "Tools" So when I saw that Tools was on SMWcentral, I sparked with hope, after about three minutes, IT WORKED!!!! Whoever said a video to change 2 numbers is stupid was right! Does anyone konw the numbers for the ending of level music? And is there any music short enough I can use?
