Which looks better?

^ I like that one the most.

I got bored the other day. It took me several hours to think of the easiest way to make the sprite float up and down, and then another few minutes to realize I didn't JSR to the routine during its floating status, haha. Here's the description for the sprite;

Yet another custom sprite I hope to release at C3 (May 9th & 10th). It floats in mid air, but if struck with a thrown item, it falls downward, eventually hitting some solid surface. If it does hit the surface of something, it will wait for a second or so, until it pops open and an item/enemy emerges! It was inspired by the ones in Yoshi's Island. Even cooler, the extra bit controls whether the sprite spawned is custom or not!

Oh, and I didn't make the Wing GFX routine, Davros did, I just modified it a bit. The normal item GFX routine was taken from an example in the tutorials folder of Sprite Tool.

Oh, and the level that is there is an example level, the actually level will feature these sprites, but no so many of them.

Cool. Are all of the items random? Or do you set them?

@ wrinkly's Save Cave

I honestly can't see much of a difference so I guess go with which ever one you want.

You set them with Extra Property Bytes 1 and 2 (via CFG editor). The first byte controls what sprite is spawned, and the second controls the sprite status ($14C8), so everything is in one ASM file. I was trying to go for the most space conserving way I could think of, and that came to mind, haha.

I'm confused now. . . Anyways, it still looks good! And what palette does it use?

@A Yoshi: I actually like the text for "A Yoshi" a lot. It's a nice italic text and doesn't look out of place to me at all.

Me neither, it looks very nice.

Also, very nice Sonikku. ;)

This is the new version of the level "Croc lake", do you remember the last demo?
A level with new graphics: this is original, pure original, guys, completely drawn with my hand and mouse (except for the platform log, i got inspiration from SMB2).
I got inspiration from this level from "Spyro the dragon" for PS1.

Watch, i made a Super Mario 64 level
Well I gotta admit wario, I absolutely love the ground tiles. The water not so much for some reason, I don't really know why.

Here are 2 of my sub-maps.

Any comments?
Not bad. You might want to add some cliff lines to the bottom right corner of the first map. The second map is pretty polished, alright there are three minor errors. I have circled them here for you. The circle in the middle is just a perspective error - that should be a 45 degree angled tile. As for the two circles up top, you just need to add a water corner so that the parts where the cliff touches the water does not look cutoff.

Other than that, good work.

The secret exit of a forest level.
You need to get the key to open up the sick goomba's medicine storage.
I wonder why he doesn't smash down the door with the hammer, he must be really sick...

As I said so in the ExGFX show-off thread, these graphics are quite impressive - I especially like how the ground graphics look there - they look, indeed, quite profissional, and it so looks like you have added lots of effort into 'em. Keep up the fantastic work! :D

kaizo master's palace (still unfinished but this video have all the kaizo part)
(btw 939 attemps)
I do pixels sometimes
@GoldenyoshiEgg: UGGGHHH, it was bad enough SCORPIAN made the fourth sector, which probably pissed off FPI, but now you're making a FIFTH SECTOR?! That's gonna piss off FPI AND SCORPIAN! You'll have TWO people mad at you(plus me, which makes three). Still, cool Kaizo-esque level...
Your layout has been removed.

@anonimato- very ehhhh kaizo XD and im guessing you made the effect at the end by sticking some thwomps at the top screen border?

I'm a Gradius addict... what?

@anonimato: Shouldn't you make it so the upside down lava kills you rather then having it act like water so you can't abuse it by swimming through it constantly?
Check out my profile for awesomeness!
